About This Job

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has released a major recruitment notification for 9,195 Constable (Technical & Tradesmen and Pioneer) posts. This is one of the biggest CAPF recruitment drives of 2026, with vacancies across all states and union territories of India. The pay is Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month (Pay Level-3, 7th CPC). CRPF Constable Technical & Tradesmen Recruitment 2026 — 9,195 Posts

The Directorate General, Central Reserve Police Force — India's largest Central Armed Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs — is hiring 9,195 Constable (Technical & Tradesmen and Pioneer) personnel. This includes 9,175 Constable Technical & Tradesmen posts (9,096 Male + 79 Female) and 20 Pioneer Wing posts (Male only). The recruitment is on a domicile basis for Technical & Tradesmen posts and on an All India basis for Pioneer Wing posts. Applications are open from 20 April 2026.

Who Can Apply?

For Driver

  • Education: Matriculation (10th pass) or equivalent from a recognized board
  • Technical: Must hold a Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Driving License and pass the driving test at recruitment

For Motor Mechanic Vehicle

  • Education: Matriculation or 10th Class pass or equivalent
  • Technical: 2-year ITI certificate in Mechanic Motor Vehicle trade from a recognized institution + 1 year practical experience, OR 3-year apprenticeship in the same trade + 1 year experience

For All Other Tradesmen (Cook, Carpenter, Tailor, Brass Band, Pipe Band, Bugler, Painter, Cobbler, Gardner, Water Carrier, Barber, Washerman, Safai Karmachari)

  • Education: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board or university
  • Technical: Must be proficient and have worked in their respective trade

For Pioneer Wing (Mason, Electrician)

  • Education: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board
  • Technical: 1 year experience in masonry or electrician trade. Preference given to ITI certificate holders

Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India. Domicile/PRC of the respective State/UT is required for Technical & Tradesmen posts. Pioneer Wing posts are open on All India basis.

Note: Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are not eligible for these posts.

Age Limit

  • Constable (Driver): 21 to 27 years as on 01 January 2026 (born between 02/01/1999 and 01/01/2005)
  • All other trades (including Pioneer Wing): 18 to 23 years as on 01 January 2026 (born between 02/01/2003 and 01/01/2008)

Age relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service

Salary

  • Pay Level: Level-3 in the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix
  • Pay Range: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month
  • In-hand Salary (approx.): Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month (including DA, HRA, and other allowances)

Selection Process

  1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — Race:
    • Driver, Motor Mechanic, Carpenter, Painter, Gardner, Brass Band, Pipe Band, Cobbler, Tailor, Bugler: 5 km in 24 minutes (Male), 1.6 km in 8 min 30 sec (Female)
    • Cook, Water Carrier, Barber/Hair Dresser, Washerman, Safai Karmachari: 1.6 km in 10 minutes (Male), 1.6 km in 12 minutes (Female)
    • Pioneer Wing (Mason, Electrician): 1.6 km in 9 minutes (Male only)
  2. Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of height, chest (males), and weight
  3. Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours — objective MCQ type in English and Hindi. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer. Subjects: General Intelligence & Reasoning (25), GK & General Awareness (25), Elementary Mathematics (25), English/Hindi (25). Matriculation level difficulty.
  4. Trade/Skill Test: Practical assessment in your trade — 50 marks total, minimum 20 marks to qualify (qualifying in nature)
  5. Document Verification (DV): Original certificates and documents verified
  6. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME): Complete medical and eye examination

CBT Cut-off: For CT (Technical & Tradesmen): UR 30%, EWS/OBC 25%, Other categories 20%. For CT (Pioneer Wing): UR 35%, SC/ST/OBC/EWS 33%.

Responsibilities

  • Handle assigned trade duties such as driving, cooking, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, or other technical tasks within CRPF units and establishments
  • Keep all vehicles, equipment, and tools in proper working condition through regular maintenance and servicing
  • Work under the supervision of senior officers and follow standard operating procedures during operations and peacetime duties
  • Assist in maintaining camp infrastructure including buildings, water supply, electrical fittings, and sanitation facilities
  • Prepare and serve meals for personnel as per the prescribed menu and dietary standards (for Cook trade)
  • Follow all safety protocols and security procedures while performing trade-specific duties in field and camp settings
  • Manage inventory of trade materials, tools, and consumables and report requirements to the quartermaster
  • Monitor and maintain hygiene standards in assigned areas including kitchens, washrooms, barracks, and open spaces

Matriculation (10th Pass) from a recognized board + proficiency in respective trade

Preferred Qualification

ITI certificate in respective trade from a recognized Industrial Training Institute

Required Skills

  • Part C — Elementary Mathematics: 25 questions, 25 marks (number systems, percentages, ratio & proportion, profit & loss, time & work)
  • Part D — English/Hindi: 25 questions, 25 marks (basic comprehension, grammar, vocabulary)

Trade/Skill Test: Practical assessment of 50 marks — you need at least 20 marks to qualify. This test checks your hands-on skills in your specific trade.

Note: CBT scores will be normalized across shifts and used to prepare the final merit list.
