The Principal District and Sessions Court, Yadgir, under the Karnataka Judiciary, has invited online applications for filling up 14 vacant positions of Peon (Jawan) and Process Server. Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must have passed SSLC (10th Class) from the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board, or hold an equivalent qualification.
  • Kannada Proficiency: For the Peon post, you must be able to read and write Kannada.
  • Driving Licence (Preferred): For the Process Server post, candidates who hold a Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving licence will get preference.
  • Domicile: Only candidates from the Kalyana Karnataka region are eligible as these are Local Cadre posts under Article 371-J.

Age Limit

  • You should be at least 18 years old as on the last date of application (12 April 2026).
  • General Category: Maximum 40 years (35 + 5 years one-time relaxation as per GO dated 29.01.2026)
  • Category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B: Maximum 43 years (38 + 5 years relaxation)
  • SC/ST/Category-1: Maximum 45 years (40 + 5 years relaxation)
  • PwD, Widow, Bonded Labour: Additional 10 years relaxation over the applicable maximum age
  • Ex-Servicemen: Years of military service + 3 additional years added to the maximum age
  • Government Servants: Relaxation equal to years of service (up to 10 years maximum)

Salary

  • Process Server: Rs. 31,775 to Rs. 61,300 per month plus allowances
  • Peon (Jawan): Rs. 27,000 to Rs. 46,675 per month plus allowances
  • You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Karnataka State Government rules.

Selection Process

There is no written exam for these posts. Selection will be done in 2 stages:

  1. Merit Shortlisting (SSLC Marks): Based on your SSLC percentage, candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:25 for Process Server and 1:10 for Peon per vacancy. The higher your 10th class marks, the better your chances.
  2. Personal Interview (10 marks): Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Final selection will be based on the marks scored in the interview.

Note: If no eligible female or ex-serviceman candidates are available for reserved posts, those vacancies will be filled from other candidates of the same category.

Responsibilities

  • Serve court summons, warrants, and legal notices to parties involved in cases
  • Deliver official documents between courts, government offices, and other authorities
  • Maintain proper records of all documents served and report back to the court
  • Assist judges and court staff with day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Keep the courtroom and office premises clean and organized
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and official correspondence
  • Provide general support during court proceedings and hearings
