The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), Station Headquarters (ECHS Cell) Shimla has released an employment notice for 2 contractual posts — Dental Officer and Peon. ECHS Shimla Contractual Staff Recruitment 2026 — 2 Posts

ECHS Polyclinic Shimla, functioning under the Chandimandir Regional Centre, needs a Dental Officer and a Peon on contractual basis. The contract period is one year for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and 11 months for civilian candidates. Preference will be given to Ex-Servicemen. The Dental Officer will also need to complete 10 days of On Job Training (OJT) at the polyclinic before signing the contract.

• Peon — 1 post (Fixed remuneration: Rs. 21,800/month)

60% reservation is provided for Ex-Servicemen in both posts.

Who Can Apply?

Dental Officer

• Qualification: BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of work experience after internship
• Registration: Valid Dental Council Registration Certificate required

Peon

• Qualification: Class 8 pass or GD Trade (Armed Forces)
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience

Important: Candidates who were earlier employed in ECHS but whose services were terminated or not extended for the second year need not apply.

Age Limit

• Dental Officer: Maximum 65 years (for contractual appointment)
• Peon: As per ECHS norms — till attaining maximum age
• Age calculated as on: 01 April 2026

Salary

• Dental Officer: Fixed remuneration of Rs. 95,000 per month
• Peon: Fixed remuneration of Rs. 21,800 per month
• Contractual employees are not entitled to any allowances, financial benefits, or concessions as admissible to government employees
• Leave: 2.5 days for every completed month during the contract period (besides Sundays and Gazetted Holidays)

Selection Process

1. Interview: Candidates will be called for a walk-in interview at Stn HQ Shimla on 15 April 2026 between 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs
2. Document Verification: You must bring all original certificates for verification at the time of interview
3. On Job Training (OJT): Selected Dental Officers must complete 10 days of unpaid OJT at ECHS Polyclinic and get a certificate from OIC before signing the contract

No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview. Only candidates who meet the qualitative requirements may apply.
