Who Can Apply?
Eligibility is as per UGC Notification dated 18 July 2018:
- Academic Record: A good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
- Master's Degree: Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a relevant subject from an Indian university or accredited foreign university.
- Relaxation: 50% marks at Master's level for SC/ST/Non-creamy layer OBC/Differently Abled candidates. Additional 5% relaxation for Ph.D. holders who completed their Master's degree prior to 19 September 1991.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/Industry.
- Publications: Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- Research Score: Total research score of 75 as per Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulation No. F.1-2/2017 (EC/PS).
- M.Phil/Ph.D acquisition period shall NOT count as research experience. However, period spent acquiring Ph.D. while in active service (without leave) may count as teaching experience as per UGC communication dated 1 March 2016.
Age Limit
- Candidates above 60 years are NOT eligible to apply.
- Present superannuation age in the University is 60 years.
- No minimum age specified — eligibility is based on qualification, experience and publications.
Salary
- Pay: Pay Level 13A as per 7th Central Pay Commission
- Entry Pay: Rs. 1,31,400 per month (Pay Level 13A)
- You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as admissible to faculty members and sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

Responsibilities
- Teach Postgraduate, M.Phil and Ph.D. students in your assigned department
- Guide doctoral and Master's research scholars and supervise their thesis work
- Conduct original research and publish papers in peer-reviewed UGC-listed journals
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, question papers and evaluate assignments and dissertations
- Participate in University academic bodies, Board of Studies and committees as required
- Apply for and execute research projects from UGC, DST, ICSSR and other funding agencies
- Attend conferences, seminars and faculty development programmes to update domain knowledge
- Help in administrative duties of the department under the Higher Education Department, Govt. of Odisha
