Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Degree required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or Technology (Mechanical).
• Recognised institution: The degree must be from a university established by Central/State Act, a recognised educational institution, a deemed university under UGC Act Section 3, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
• Computer knowledge: You must have basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services rules.
• Language knowledge: You must have adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: Not more than 35 years.
• Age date: Age will be counted as on the last date of online application, which is 19 May 2026.
• Reserved categories of Gujarat origin: Age relaxation is available as per rules, subject to the maximum limits mentioned in the notification.
• PwD candidates: Relaxation up to 10 years, subject to maximum age limits.
• Women candidates: Relaxation is available as per the category-wise rules in the notification.

Salary

• Pay scale: Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400.
• Pay level: Level 8 in the GWSSB service.
• Other allowances will apply as per GWSSB service rules where applicable.

• General / Unreserved: Rs. 100 plus applicable postal charges or online service charges.
• Reserved categories of Gujarat, EWS, Ex-servicemen, and PwD: No application fee.

Selection Process

GPSC will select candidates through a preliminary test, followed by interview and document verification. Candidates scoring less than 15% in the preliminary test will not be considered for interview eligibility.

1. Online Application Screening: GPSC checks submitted online applications and required documents at the scrutiny stage.
2. Preliminary Test: The test carries 300 marks with 300 questions for 180 minutes.
3. General Studies: 100 questions for 100 marks.
4. Mechanical Subject: 200 questions for 200 marks.
5. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called as per GPSC rules based on vacancy count and category.
6. Final Result: The final result is expected within 10 working days after completion of interview.
