The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, established in 1949, is inviting online applications for 198 permanent teaching posts in the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Family & Community Sciences. Who Can Apply?
You need to meet the eligibility criteria as per UGC Regulations 2018 and the AICTE Notification 2024. Here are the general requirements:
Assistant Professor
- Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from a recognized university in the relevant subject
- NET/SET/SLET qualification is mandatory (unless exempted by UGC norms, such as Ph.D. holders meeting specific criteria)
- A 5% relaxation in marks is available for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS and PwBD candidates
Associate Professor
- Ph.D. in the relevant discipline
- Master's degree with at least 55% marks
- Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience in a university or college
- Published research work of high quality as per UGC norms
Professor
- Ph.D. in the relevant discipline
- Master's degree with at least 55% marks
- Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the Associate Professor level
- Ten research publications in peer-reviewed journals (for Professor) or seven research papers (for Associate Professor)
Note: All degrees must be from a UGC/AICTE/PCI-recognized university or institution. Candidates with foreign degrees need an equivalence certificate from AIU, New Delhi.
Age Limit
- Age limit and relaxation will be as per the Government of Gujarat rules and UGC regulations
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS/PwBD categories as per Gujarat government norms
- Date of birth is determined from your Matriculation/SSC certificate
Salary
The pay scale follows the 7th CPC (UGC) as adopted by the Government of Gujarat:
- Assistant Professor: Academic Level 10 -- Entry pay Rs. 57,700 per month (Pay range: Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400)
- Associate Professor: Academic Level 13A -- Entry pay Rs. 1,31,400 per month (Pay range: Rs. 1,31,400 to Rs. 2,17,100)
- Professor: Academic Level 14 -- Entry pay Rs. 1,44,200 per month (Pay range: Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200)
- Allowances: DA, HRA, and other admissible allowances as per Government of Gujarat rules

- Reserved category (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS): Rs. 500
- PwBD candidates: No fee (fully exempted)

Selection Process
The selection follows the Gujarat Public Universities Uniform Statutes, 2024 and UGC guidelines:
- Application Screening: Your application will be checked for eligibility, qualifications, and completeness
- Academic/Research Score (A/R Score): You must enter your A/R score in the application form, supported by documentary evidence
- Shortlisting: Based on qualifications, experience, publications, and A/R Score as per the Gujarat Public Universities Act, 2023 (Clause 127, 128, 129, 130 of Chapter XVII)
- Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. Call letters will be sent by email only
- Document Verification: You need to bring a hard copy of your application with all self-attested documents at the time of interview/verification
No Written Exam -- selection is based on academic credentials, research output, and personal interview. No TA/DA or local conveyance will be paid for attending the screening test or interview.

Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, conduct tutorials, and guide laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the assigned department
- Prepare course material, question papers, and evaluation methods as per university curriculum and UGC standards
- Conduct research, publish papers in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to the academic growth of the department
- Supervise M.Phil. and Ph.D. students and guide them through their research work
- Assist in administrative duties such as examination work, admission processes, and committee responsibilities as assigned by the university
- Participate in faculty development programmes, workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay updated in the field
- Manage departmental resources, laboratories, and equipment, and contribute to procurement and maintenance planning
- Follow the code of conduct and service rules prescribed by MSU Baroda and the Government of Gujarat
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Master's degree with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university (NET/SET mandatory for Assistant Professor; Ph.D. required for Associate Professor and Professor)
Preferred Qualification
Ph.D. in the relevant discipline, strong research publications record, knowledge of Gujarati language
