NPCIL has released notification for 337 Apprentice posts at its Kakrapar Gujarat Site. This includes 237 Trade Apprentice, 33 Technician Apprentice, and 67 Graduate Apprentice positions. NPCIL Kakrapar Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - 337 Posts

Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), a premier Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has announced apprenticeship training at its Kakrapar Gujarat Site. The training is for one year under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Selection is purely merit-based on marks obtained in your ITI, Diploma, or Graduation course. Preference will be given to candidates living within 16 km radius of the Kakrapar plant site. Who Can Apply?

For Trade Apprentice:

  • Qualification: You need to have completed your ITI course in the relevant trade (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Welder, Instrument Mechanic, COPA/PASAA, Machinist, Turner, AC Mechanic, or Diesel Mechanic) from a recognised institute. Must be full-time/regular mode.

For Technician Apprentice:

  • Qualification: You need a 3-year Diploma or equivalent in the relevant engineering or technology stream (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Electrical) from a recognised institute. Must be full-time/regular mode.

For Graduate Apprentice:

  • Qualification: You need a Graduation or equivalent in the relevant engineering/technology stream or general stream (BA, B.Sc., B.Com) from a recognised university. Must be full-time/regular mode.
  • Note: Diploma and Graduate Apprentice candidates must have passed their qualifying exam within 5 years before 06/04/2026 to apply on NATS 2.0 portal.

Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in any Government, PSU, or Private Industrial Organisation under the Apprentices Act, 1961 are not eligible.

Age Limit

  • Trade Apprentice: You should be between 18 and 24 years old as on 06 April 2026.
  • Technician Apprentice: You should be between 18 and 25 years old as on 06 April 2026.
  • Graduate Apprentice: You should be between 18 and 26 years old as on 06 April 2026.
  • SC/ST: 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.
  • OBC (NCL): 3 years relaxation in upper age limit.
  • PwBD (General & EWS): 10 years relaxation.
  • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years relaxation.
  • PwBD (OBC NCL): 13 years relaxation.

Stipend

  • Trade Apprentice (1-year ITI): Rs. 10,560 per month
  • Trade Apprentice (2-year ITI): Rs. 11,040 per month
  • Technician Apprentice: Rs. 10,900 per month
  • Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 12,300 per month

No transport, hostel, or residential accommodation will be provided. The apprenticeship training is for a maximum of one year.

Physical Standards

  • Height: 137 cm and above
  • Weight: 25.4 kg and above
  • Chest Expansion: 3.8 cm
  • Medical fitness as declared by the Competent Authority is required.
  • Candidates must be free from any contagious or infectious disease, and from tuberculosis in any form.

Application Fee

  • No application fee is required for any category.
  • This is an apprenticeship engagement under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection is purely merit-based. There is no written exam or interview.

  1. Merit List Preparation: Candidates will be selected based on marks obtained in their ITI, Diploma, or Graduation course. Separate merit lists will be prepared trade-wise and discipline-wise.
  2. Preference to Local Candidates: Candidates from villages within 16 km radius of Kakrapar plant site will get preference. If local candidates do not fill all positions, remaining seats will be filled from other applicants based on merit.
  3. Tie-Breaking: If marks are equal, the candidate born earlier gets preference. If date of birth is also same, the one with higher matriculation percentage will rank higher.
  4. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must be declared medically fit by the Competent Authority.
  5. Police Verification: Since Kakrapar is a protected area, police verification by District Police Authorities is mandatory before engagement.

  4. Technician & Graduate Apprentices: Register yourself on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme 2.0 (NATS 2.0) portal at www.nats.education.gov.in.
  5. Fill in the application form completely. Affix a passport-size photograph on the form.
  6. Attach self-attested copies of all required documents.

Responsibilities

  • Attend daily practical training sessions at the assigned workshop or department at Kakrapar nuclear power plant

  • Work under the supervision of experienced engineers and technicians
  • Maintain training logbooks and submit progress reports as required
  • Operate and handle tools, equipment, and machinery relevant to your trade or discipline
  • Assist regular staff in routine maintenance, repair, and operational tasks
  • Keep the work area clean and follow proper waste disposal procedures
