Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai — a Grant-in-Aid Institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India — has released Advertisement No. VAR/ACA/14/2026 dated 12 May 2026. The notification invites applications for 9 posts of 2-Year HBNI Certified Fellowship and 2 posts of 1-Year TMC Fellowship across Surgical Oncology, Onco Pathology, Pediatric Oncology and Dental & Prosthetic Surgery departments at HBCH and MPMMCC, Varanasi. The Fellowship session commences from 01 August 2026.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Must hold the post-graduate / super-specialty medical degree required for the specific fellowship — MD / MS / DNB / MCh / DrNB / MDS as listed above.
• Recognition: All UG, PG and Super-Specialty degrees must be recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Dental PG must be recognised by DCI.
• Medical Registration: Selected candidates must be registered with the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council before joining.
• NOC Required: If you are currently working in any Central/State Govt./Autonomous/Semi-Govt. organisation, you must obtain and upload a No Objection Certificate from your employer.
• Awaited Results: Candidates whose results are awaited may also apply but must produce passing proof on the day of the MCQ/Interview.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years as on 31 July 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST - 5 years, OBC - 3 years, Physically Handicapped - 10 years.

Salary

• 01 Year TMC Fellowship
  • MS/MD/DNB: Rs. 1,33,623 per month (Gross Pay)
  • M.Ch/DM/DrNB: Rs. 1,45,530 per month (Gross Pay)
• 02 Year HBNI Fellowship
  • MS/MD/DNB (1st Year): Rs. 1,33,623 per month (Gross Pay)
  • MS/MD/DNB (2nd Year): Rs. 1,36,269 per month (Gross Pay)
  • MCh/DM/DrNB (1st & 2nd Year): Rs. 1,45,530 per month (Gross Pay)
• Shared hostel accommodation may be provided subject to availability; hostel charges will be deducted from the stipend.

Application Fee

• All candidates: Rs. 300

• Application fee is non-refundable. Separate applications and fees are required for each post.

Caution Deposit (after selection): For 1-Year TMC Fellowship - Rs. 1,33,623.

HBNI Fees Structure (additional, payable after selection):

• 1st Year: Admission Rs. 4,500 + Tuition Rs. 1,00,000 + Library Deposit Rs. 5,000 + Appraisal Rs. 10,000 + Exam Rs. 9,000 = Total Rs. 1,28,500
• 2nd Year: Tuition Rs. 1,00,000 + Enrollment Rs. 3,000 + Convocation Rs. 2,000 = Total Rs. 1,05,000
• Tuition, Appraisal, Exam and Convocation fees totalling Rs. 2,15,000 will be deducted in 10 equal monthly installments of Rs. 21,500 from the stipend.

Selection Process

1. Screening of Online Applications based on essential qualification and experience.
2. MCQ Examination (online or offline) — conducted only if the number of applicants exceeds 3 times the number of posts advertised. If fewer applications than vacancies, no MCQ will be held for that post. Dean (Academics), HBCH/MPMMCC will decide.
3. Interview for shortlisted candidates.
4. Document Verification — Date of Birth proof, qualifications, experience, caste certificate, disability certificate, NOC etc. must be produced in original.

No TA/DA will be admissible for candidates appearing for the MCQ/Interview. Legal jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Varanasi only.

• Manage in-patient and out-patient cancer cases under the assigned department (Surgical Oncology, Onco Pathology, Pediatric Oncology, Dental & Prosthetic Surgery)
• Assist in surgical procedures, diagnostic work-ups and treatment planning of oncology patients
• Examine biopsy samples and prepare pathology reports under faculty supervision (for Onco Pathology Fellows)
• Attend tumour boards, multi-disciplinary clinics and academic sessions at HBCH/MPMMCC, Varanasi
• Conduct clinical and translational research in oncology and submit thesis as per HBNI/TMC requirements
• Maintain accurate medical records, follow infection control protocols and adhere to hospital SOPs
• Take part in journal clubs, case discussions and academic teaching of junior trainees
• Comply with the rules and regulations of HBNI, TMC and the Department of Atomic Energy
