All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has invited applications for 199 faculty positions at its CAPFIMS (Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences) Campus in Maidangarhi, New Delhi. CAPFIMS is a dedicated medical institution established by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the operational umbrella of AIIMS New Delhi, primarily to serve the healthcare needs of Central Armed Police Forces personnel. This recruitment covers four faculty levels across 50 medical, dental, and non-clinical disciplines. All positions are on regular/direct recruitment basis. Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Professor

  • Medical candidates: A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) included in the First or Second Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Postgraduate qualification — MD/MS/DNB in the relevant specialty from a recognized institution.
  • Super-specialty candidates: DM/MCh/DNB in the concerned super-specialty.
  • Dental candidates: MDS or equivalent in the relevant dental specialty from a DCI-recognized institution.
  • Non-medical candidates: MSc/PhD or equivalent qualification recognized by UGC in relevant subjects like Biostatistics, Physiology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Microbiology, or Pharmacology.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of teaching/research experience after obtaining the essential qualification from a recognized institution.

For Associate Professor

  • Same essential qualification as Assistant Professor, plus 6 years of teaching/research experience (for broad specialties) or 4 years (for super-specialties) after obtaining the postgraduate qualification.

For Additional Professor

  • Same essential qualification, plus 8 years of teaching/research experience (for broad specialties) or 6 years (for super-specialties).

For Professor

  • Same essential qualification, plus 10 years of teaching/research experience (for broad specialties) or 8 years (for super-specialties). At least 2 years should be in a position not below Associate Professor or equivalent.

Note: Teaching and research experience must be from institutions recognized by NMC/MCI, DCI, or UGC, as applicable. DNB holders must meet specific equivalence criteria mentioned in the notification.

Age Limit

  • Upper age limit: 50 years for all posts
  • Age relaxation: SC/ST — 5 years, OBC — 3 years, PwBD — 5 years, Government Servant — 5 years
  • Maximum after relaxation: 55 years (no candidate can exceed this even after availing all relaxations)
  • Cut-off date for age calculation: Last date of online application submission
  • Age relaxation is granted exclusively to regular employees working under the Central Government. Employees of autonomous bodies like AIIMS, state governments, or PSUs are not eligible for age relaxation.

Salary

  • Professor: Academic Level 14 — Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 per month
  • Additional Professor: Academic Level 13A2 — Rs 1,31,400 to Rs 2,17,100 per month
  • Associate Professor: Academic Level 13A1 — Rs 1,21,800 to Rs 2,14,100 per month
  • Assistant Professor: Academic Level 12 — Rs 1,01,500 to Rs 1,67,400 per month
  • In addition to basic pay, you will receive allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Non-Practising Allowance (NPA), and other benefits as per Government of India norms

Selection Process

  1. Initial Eligibility Check — Your application is screened for essential qualifications, age, and experience requirements. You must meet all criteria as of the last date of online application.

Objective Screening — When a post receives more than 10 applications, candidates are scored on objective criteria (max 75 marks for medical stream, 75 marks for non-medical) covering: Academic & Professional Achievements (10 marks), Research & Publications (35 marks), and Teaching & Presentations (30 marks). Top 10 scorers per post are shortlisted.
  3. Interview — Shortlisted candidates appear before the Selection Committee. Final selection is based solely on interview performance (screening scores are only for shortlisting, not final selection).
  4. Document Verification — Original certificates, experience letters, category certificates, NOC (if employed), and APAR dossiers are verified.

There is no written exam for this recruitment. Selection is merit-based through screening and interview.

Responsibilities

  • Handle teaching responsibilities for undergraduate (MBBS/BDS) and postgraduate (MD/MS/DM/MCh/MDS) students in your assigned discipline at the CAPFIMS campus
  • Conduct clinical work including patient care, diagnosis, treatment, and management in your specialty department
  • Carry out research projects, publish papers in indexed journals, and contribute to the academic output of the institution
  • Supervise thesis and dissertation work of postgraduate students and guide junior faculty members
  • Participate in departmental meetings, academic discussions, case presentations, and CME programmes
  • Follow all administrative and clinical protocols set by AIIMS New Delhi and the CAPFIMS campus
  • Assist in developing curriculum, conducting examinations, and evaluating student performance
  • Work towards establishing the CAPFIMS campus as a centre of excellence for medical education and healthcare delivery for CAPF personnel

Objective Screening Criteria (for Shortlisting)

When a post receives more than 10 applications, candidates are scored on objective criteria. The screening process uses a 75-mark scorecard divided into three sections:

  • Section 1: Academic & Professional Achievements — 10 Marks
    • NTSC Scholarship: 1 mark
    • International Fellowship (non-LMIC): 1-5 marks based on duration
    • Armed Forces service: 1 mark/year (max 2)
    • BCLS/ACLS/NELS course: 1 mark each

Top 10 scorers per post code are shortlisted for interview. If candidates share the same score, all are shortlisted even if the total exceeds 10. Screening scores are used only for shortlisting purposes — final selection depends entirely on interview performance assessed by the Selection Committee.
