All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi has released a vacancy notice dated 13 May 2026 for 1 Project Research Scientist-I (Medical) post under an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funded project at the Department of Psychiatry and the National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre (NDDTC). There is no written exam — selection is through an interview only. Doctors with prior research experience in mental health and addictive disorders will be given preference.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: You must have an MBBS or BDS degree from a recognised university or institution.
• Desirable: Prior experience of research work in the area of mental health and addictive disorders will be given preference.
• Valid registration with the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council / Dental Council of India is expected at the time of joining.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 35 years
• Age relaxation will apply as per Government of India and ICMR rules for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and other reserved categories.

Salary

• The selected candidate will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 87,100 per month.
• No additional allowances (HRA, TA, DA) will be paid as this is a consolidated pay package under an ICMR-funded project.
• The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the ICMR project.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done through a single-stage process:

1. Walk-in / Online Interview: Eligible candidates will be called for an interview by the Department of Psychiatry & NDDTC.
2. Document Verification: All original certificates including MBBS/BDS, age proof, and registration will be verified before final selection.

• Conduct clinical research activities under the ICMR-funded project at the Department of Psychiatry & NDDTC

• Assist senior investigators in study design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation
• Coordinate with project staff, lab technicians, and other departments for sample collection and analysis
• Present research findings at project review meetings and academic conferences
