Anna University Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Anna University (Chennai), through its constituent University College of Engineering Panruti, has released a notification for 1 Project Assistant post under the Chief Minister's Research Grant (CMRG) scheme. The project is titled "Structural Behaviour and Optimization of Galvanized Cold-Formed Steel Thin-Walled Cross Sections in Hybrid Braced-Moment Frames", sanctioned vide CMRG/eOffice E-671131/115 dated 13-02-2026. Selected candidates are also allowed to register for a Ph.D. programme at Anna University, Chennai — a strong career boost for research aspirants.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a First Class M.E. / M.Tech in Engineering or Technology (Civil / Structural / Construction Engineering and Management) from a recognised University or equivalent.
• Preferred: Candidates with GATE/NET qualification will get added advantage.

Salary

• Consolidated pay of Rs. 25,000 per month
• No additional allowances. The position is temporary and renewed every year subject to satisfactory performance.
• Total project duration is 30 months.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Shortlisting: Applications will be screened based on qualification and credentials.
2. Written Test and Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and/or interview. The date and time will be informed by email only. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Selected candidates must produce all original certificates and other relevant documents at the time of interview.

• Help with finite element modelling and optimization of thin-walled cross sections
• Coordinate with co-investigators and university officials for project deliverables
• Present research findings at department meetings and academic seminars
