Vikram Dev University (VDU), a State Public University established under the Odisha University Act 1989, located at Jeypore, Koraput district, has released Employment Notice No. 1098/Esst./2026 dated 05 May 2026. The notification covers 14 Professor, 32 Associate Professor and 64 Assistant Professor regular posts across Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Home Science, Mathematics, Odia, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics and Zoology. The selection is governed by UGC Notification F.1-2/2017(EC/PS) dated 18 July 2018. Both freshers and experienced candidates with the required UGC qualifications can apply.

Who Can Apply?

You must meet the eligibility criteria laid down in UGC Regulations Notification F.1-2/2017(EC/PS) dated 18 July 2018 (as amended). The minimum requirements are summarised below.

For Assistant Professor (Pay Level 10)

• Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the concerned subject from a recognised Indian University
• Must have qualified NET / SLET / SET conducted by UGC, CSIR or a similar accredited test
• Candidates with a Ph.D degree (as per UGC Regulations 2009 or its amendments) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET

For Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A)

• A good academic record with a Ph.D degree in the concerned subject
• Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade)
• Minimum of 8 years experience of teaching and/or research in a university/college as Assistant Professor
• Should have published research papers as per UGC norms

For Professor (Pay Level 14)

• Eminent scholar with Ph.D qualification in the concerned subject
• Published work of high quality with a strong research record
• Minimum of 10 years teaching/research experience in a university or college
• Should have successfully guided doctoral candidates as per UGC norms

Age Limit

• Age of superannuation and reservation rules follow the regulations of the Government of Odisha

Salary

• Professor: Pay Level 14, Rs. 1,44,200 – Rs. 2,18,200 per month (7th CPC)
• Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A, Rs. 1,31,400 – Rs. 2,17,100 per month (7th CPC)
• Assistant Professor: Pay Level 10, Rs. 57,700 – Rs. 1,82,400 per month (7th CPC)
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection follows UGC Regulations 2018 and the Vikram Dev University Statute. The stages are:

1. Screening of online applications for eligibility (qualifications, NET/SLET/SET, Ph.D, experience, publications)
2. Selection Committee Interview constituted as per UGC Regulations Notification F.1-2/2017(EC/PS), 18 July 2018
3. Document Verification of original certificates, mark sheets and publications

There is no written examination. Final selection is based on academic record, research contribution and interview performance.
