High Court of Andhra Pradesh Court Master & Personal Secretary Recruitment 2026 - 32 Posts

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh (AP High Court), headquartered at Amaravati, has issued Notification No. 02/2026/Estt. dated 20 March 2026 inviting applications for 32 posts of Court Master and Personal Secretary to the Hon'ble Judges and Registrars. Out of these, 20 posts will be filled through Direct Recruitment and 12 posts through transfer from employees already working in the High Court or District Judiciary. This is a great opportunity for graduates with shorthand and typewriting skills to work directly in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh. Who Can Apply?

  • Educational Qualification: You must have a Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, or Law (3-year or 5-year course) from a recognized university in India.
  • English Shorthand: You need to have passed English Shorthand examination with 180 wpm speed, conducted by the State Board of Technical Education or an equivalent body. Candidates with 150 wpm can also apply, but preference will be given to those with 180 wpm speed.
  • Typewriting: You must have passed Typewriting by Higher Grade examination in English with a speed of 45 words per minute, conducted by the State Board of Technical Education.
  • Computer Skills: Preference will be given to candidates possessing computer skills, so having basic computer knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit

  • You should be at least 18 years old and not more than 42 years old as on 01 January 2026.
  • Age Relaxation for SC/ST/BC/EWS: Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years (i.e., up to 47 years).
  • Age Relaxation for PwBD: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities get relaxation of 10 years (i.e., up to 52 years).
  • Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per Rule 12(1)(c)(i) of the AP State and Subordinate Service Rules.
  • Sports Quota: Age relaxation as prescribed for the respective class/category.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will receive a pay scale of Rs. 57,100 to Rs. 1,47,760 per month under AP Revised Pay Scales (RPS) 2022.
  • The starting basic pay is Rs. 57,100 per month.
  • You will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other allowances as per Andhra Pradesh Government rules.

  • The fee once paid will not be refunded even if the application is rejected or the notification is cancelled.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through a written examination:

  1. Written Examination (Shorthand Test): A written exam will test your capability in English Shorthand. The test includes dictation at 180 wpm (3 minutes duration) and 150 wpm (4 minutes duration), followed by transcription on computers within 40 and 45 minutes respectively. The total test carries 100 marks.
  2. Document Verification: Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for verification of original certificates at the High Court.

The exam date will be notified on the official website of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh. Hall tickets will be sent by post to eligible candidates.

How to Apply

This is an offline application process. You need to submit your application by post. Follow these steps:

  1. Download the proforma application form and Hall-Ticket from the AP High Court website at aphc.gov.in.
  2. Fill in the application form completely and paste three latest passport-size colour photographs (one on the application, one on the Hall-Ticket original, and one on the duplicate).
  3. Get the photograph on the application attested by a Gazetted Officer.
  4. Attach attested copies of all required certificates and documents.
  5. Prepare a Demand Draft of the examination fee (Rs. 600 or Rs. 400) in favour of Registrar (Administration), High Court of Andhra Pradesh.
  6. Send the complete application by post, superscribed as "Application for the post of Court Master and Personal Secretary to the Hon'ble Judges and Registrars".

  • Manage the daily schedule, appointments, and court calendar of the assigned Judge or Registrar.
  • Maintain and organize case files, legal records, and official documents in a systematic manner.
  • Assist the Hon'ble Judges and Registrars in preparing judgments, orders, and other judicial communications.
  • Coordinate with advocates, court staff, and other departments on behalf of the assigned Judge or Registrar.
  • Follow all administrative procedures and maintain strict confidentiality of judicial matters.

Exam Pattern - Shorthand Test

The written examination will test your English Shorthand skills on computers. Here is the complete breakdown:
