Cordite Factory Aruvankadu (CFA), a unit of Munitions India Limited under the Department of Defence Production, has announced recruitment for 18 Graduate/Diploma Project Engineer (Chemical) positions at its facility in The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. These are tenure-based contract positions spread across 6 different disciplines including R&D, Quality Control, Maintenance, Safety, and Production. Who Can Apply?

You must be a citizen of India and must have completed your apprenticeship training in Ordnance Factories. Here are the qualification requirements in order of preference:

Preference 1 (Highest Priority):

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Chemical Engineering
• Apprenticeship: Completed in manufacturing/handling of ammunition and explosives at an Ordnance Factory

Preference 2:

• Qualification: B.Sc. Graduate with Chemistry as one of the major subjects
• Apprenticeship: Completed in manufacturing/handling of ammunition and explosives at an Ordnance Factory

Preference 3:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Chemical Engineering
• Apprenticeship: Completed in Chemical (other than manufacturing/handling of ammunition and explosives) at an Ordnance Factory

Important: Only Graduate/Diploma Apprentices who have completed their apprenticeship training at Ordnance Factories are eligible to apply. If you have CGPA instead of percentage marks, you must submit the CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula from your university.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years for General category candidates
• Age will be calculated as on 01 April 2026 (the last date of receipt of applications)
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (only for posts reserved for SC/ST)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (only for posts reserved for OBC)
• Ex-Servicemen: Period of Military Service + 3 years

Salary

• 1st Year: Rs. 36,000 per month (Consolidated Remuneration)
• 2nd Year: Rs. 37,080 per month
• 3rd Year: Rs. 38,192 per month
• 4th Year: Rs. 39,338 per month
• Level: Supervisory
• Plus IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance) as prevalent
• Plus HRA (House Rent Allowance) as per city classification, when Company Quarter is not available
• Eligible for EPF and benefits under the Employees Compensation Act, 1923
• Eligible for Bonus as per the Bonus Act, 1965 (if applicable)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this recruitment. Selection is based on your academic performance and an interview:

1. Merit Based on Qualifying Exam (85% Weightage): Your marks in the Graduation/Diploma examination will carry 85% weightage in the final merit. The factory will decide a cut-off percentage for shortlisting candidates for interview.
2. Personal Interaction/Interview (15% Weightage): Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interaction that carries 15% of the total weightage. You will be informed through email only.
3. Document Verification: Candidates qualifying in merit and interview will be called for document verification. The number of candidates called will be limited to the posts notified (discipline and category wise).

Final Merit = Graduation/Diploma Marks (85%) + Interview Marks (15%). In case of a tie, preference goes to: (a) higher marks in B.E./B.Tech/Diploma, (b) higher marks in interview, and (c) older candidate by date of birth.
