Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) has released a notification for 43 PGT, TGT and Physical Instructor posts in its Railway Schools at Chittaranjan, West Bengal. Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), one of Indian Railways' oldest and most prestigious manufacturing units, has announced walk-in recruitment for contract teachers in its three Railway Schools — D.V. Girls, D.V. Boys and CHS (English Medium). The engagement covers 19 different subject categories across PGT, TGT and Physical Instructor roles for the academic session 2026-27. No written exam is required — candidates are selected through walk-in interview only. Who Can Apply?

For PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) Posts:

• Option A: Two-year integrated Post Graduate M.Sc./M.A. course from a Regional College of Education of NCERT in the relevant subject.
• Option B: Master's Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject, AND B.Ed. or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
• Additional: Proficiency in teaching in the concerned medium/media is required.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Application.

For PGT (Computer):

• Option A: B.E./B.Tech (Computer Science/IT) plus Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications or C Level Diploma from DOEACC, plus one year teaching experience.
• Option B: M.Sc. (Computer Science)/MCA plus one year teaching experience.
• Option C: M.E./M.Tech (Computer Science/IT).

For TGT Posts:

• Option A: Graduation in the relevant subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
• Option B: At least 50% marks in Graduation (relevant subject) or Post-Graduation and B.Ed.
• Option C: Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1-year B.Ed. as per NCTE norms.
• Option D: Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed. or 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
• Option E: Graduation with 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
• Option F: Post-Graduation with minimum 55% marks and 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
• Additional: Competence to teach through the required medium/media.

For Physical Instructor:

• Graduate with Bachelor's in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or its equivalent.
• Competency in imparting Physical Education in English/Hindi medium.

Age Limit

• You should be at least 18 years old and not more than 65 years old as on the date of notification (26 March 2026).
• The contractual engagement cannot continue beyond 65 years of age.

Salary

• PGT (all subjects): Rs. 27,500 per month (fixed consolidated)
• TGT (all subjects): Rs. 26,250 per month (fixed consolidated)
• Physical Instructor: Rs. 26,250 per month (fixed consolidated)
• No additional allowances, benefits or facilities are provided. No TA/DA is admissible.
• Payment is made on a monthly basis. No payment during school vacations. Pro-rata calculation for broken months: (Consolidated Pay x Days Worked) / 30.

Application Fee

• No application fee is required for any category.
• Candidates simply need to appear at the walk-in venue with the filled application form and required documents.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview — No Written Exam)

Selection is through walk-in interview only. There is no written examination:

1. Document Verification & Registration: Report between 09:30 Hrs and 13:30 Hrs on your scheduled date. Your original documents and certificates will be checked.
2. Walk-in Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on the same day. If turnout is high, interviews may continue on the next working day.
3. Medical Examination (CEE-TWO, C-2): Selected candidates must undergo a medical examination. Failing to meet the required medical standard will result in cancellation of candidature.

• Teach assigned subjects to students in Railway Schools (D.V. Girls, D.V. Boys, and CHS English Medium) at CLW Chittaranjan as per the prescribed curriculum and academic calendar.
• Prepare lesson plans, study materials and worksheets appropriate for the class and medium of instruction (Hindi, English or Bengali).
• Conduct regular assessments, evaluate answer sheets and maintain academic records of students assigned to your classes.
• Assist in organizing school events, cultural programmes, sports activities and other co-curricular initiatives at the Railway township.
• Follow the rules and regulations of the Railway School administration and cooperate with the Head Master/Head Mistress on all academic matters.
• Monitor student attendance and behaviour, and communicate with parents or guardians when needed regarding academic progress.
• Handle examination duties including question paper preparation, invigilation and result compilation as directed by the school principal.
