District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Angul has released notification for 45 Para Legal Volunteer (PLV) posts in Angul Sub-division, Odisha. DLSA Angul Para Legal Volunteer Recruitment 2026 - 45 Posts

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Angul under the Office of the District and Sessions Judge, Angul has invited applications from interested local residents for empanelment as Para Legal Volunteers. These PLVs will work at the grassroots level to help people from marginalized and weaker sections of society get access to legal services. No written exam is required — selection will be through interview only. This is a great opportunity if you are passionate about social work, legal awareness, and community upliftment.

Who Can Apply?

  • Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India.
  • Education: You should be literate, preferably a Matriculate (10th pass) with the ability to comprehend things well.
  • Language: You must be able to speak, read, and write Odia language.
  • Age: You should have completed 18 years of age as on the date of this advertisement (19 March 2026).
  • Residence: You must be a local resident of Angul Sub-division.
  • Mindset: You should have compassion, empathy, and a genuine concern for helping marginalized and weaker sections of society.

  • Retired government servants and senior citizens
  • M.S.W students and teachers
  • Anganwadi Workers
  • Doctors and Physicians
  • Students and Law Students (till they enroll as lawyers)

  • Members of Women Neighbourhood Groups, Maithri Sanghams, and other SHGs
  • Marginalized or vulnerable groups
  • Educated prisoners with good behavior serving long-term sentences
  • Any other person deemed fit by the DLSA

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 18 years as on 19 March 2026 (date of advertisement).
  • No maximum age limit has been specified in the notification.

Honorarium

  • This position does not carry any regular salary, remuneration, or wages.
  • Selected PLVs will receive an honorarium as fixed by NALSA (National Legal Services Authority) and OSLSA (Odisha State Legal Services Authority) from time to time.
  • The honorarium is paid on a per-day basis for the days when specific legal aid work is assigned.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be through interview only:

  1. Shortlisting: The Selection Committee may shortlist candidates depending on the number of applications received.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview conducted by the Selection Committee.
  3. Final Selection: Preference will be given to women applicants. Representation from SC/ST, minority, and other backward classes will be ensured.

The decision of the Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Angul shall be final and binding on all concerned.

Disqualification Conditions

  • Being an active political party member or enthusiast

Responsibilities

  • Assist the District Legal Services Authority in spreading legal awareness among people in rural and urban areas
  • Help marginalized and weaker sections of society access free legal aid and services
  • Conduct legal literacy camps and awareness programmes at the community level
  • Guide people on how to approach courts and legal authorities for resolving their disputes
  • Work as a bridge between the public and the legal services authority for better access to justice
  • Identify individuals who need legal assistance and connect them with the DLSA panel lawyers
  • Prepare reports on legal awareness activities and submit them to the DLSA office
  • Assist in Lok Adalat proceedings and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms
