DRDO's Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) in Delhi has invited applications for 8 Paid Internship positions for the year 2026-27. The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) is a specialized laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India. INMAS focuses on radiation countermeasures, cognitive and behavioural research for military performance, and safeguarding armed forces against radiological threats. Who Can Apply?
- UG candidates: You must be pursuing the final year of B.E. / B.Tech (7th or 8th Semester) in the relevant discipline from a recognized Indian university or institute
- PG candidates: You must be pursuing the final year of M.Sc. / M.Tech (3rd or 4th Semester) in the relevant discipline from a recognized Indian university or institute
- You need a strong academic record with 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or above
- Your college Director/Principal must provide a permission letter recommending you as a meritorious student
- Only Indian nationals can apply — students studying outside India are not eligible
Age Limit
- Maximum age: Below 28 years as on the closing date of the advertisement
Stipend
- Monthly stipend: Rs. 5,000 per month
- Payment schedule: Paid in 2 installments — the first installment is paid after completing 3 months of the internship
- The stipend is paid directly into your bank account
- If you leave before completing 3 months, no payment will be made
- No TA/DA is provided for joining
- All expenses for lodging, boarding, transport, and medical are borne by the intern
Selection Process
- Academic merit: Selection is based purely on your academic track record (75% or 7.5 CGPA minimum)
- Interaction (if needed): INMAS may conduct an interview via video conferencing or phone call — your performance in the interaction will also count
- Final selection: Shortlisted students will be notified about joining procedures through email only
No written exam is conducted. This is a merit-based selection with a possible interview round.

Responsibilities
- Work on defence research projects related to radiation countermeasures, nuclear medicine, and allied sciences under the guidance of DRDO scientists
- Assist in laboratory experiments, data collection, and analysis in your assigned discipline
- Follow all security protocols including the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923, and IT regulations of the Ministry of Defence
- Prepare and submit a progress report after 3 months and a final project report after 6 months
- Attend the lab regularly with biometric/Aadhaar-based attendance recording as per establishment norms
- Handle assigned research equipment, software tools, and laboratory instruments with care
- Keep all research data, findings, and project details strictly confidential — no sharing on social media or any platform
