Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College & Hospital, Pandeypur, Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) has announced Advertisement No. 02/2026 (e-file no. 282-Faculty recruitment/ESICMCH-2025) dated 8 April 2026 for filling 43 contract-based teaching posts across Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Resident levels. The engagement is initially for one year, extendable up to three years, across 18 medical departments. Selection is purely merit-based through walk-in interview — there is no written exam. This is a great chance for medical post-graduates looking for teaching positions in a Central Government medical college under the Ministry of Labour & Employment.

Total 43 vacancies across 4 post levels and 18 departments:

• Professor: 9 posts
• Associate Professor: 15 posts
• Assistant Professor: 8 posts
• Senior Resident: 11 posts

Department-wise Vacancy Details:

Any candidate can be appointed against any unfilled vacant reserved category post for 44 days with provision of possible extension. Candidates of unreserved category can apply against EWS posts.

Who Can Apply?

For Professor

• Qualification: MD/MS in the concerned subject.
• Experience: At least 3 years as Associate Professor in a recognized medical institution, OR Specialist Medical Officer of Armed Forces with 3 years experience as Associate Professor in an Armed Forces teaching hospital.
• Research: At least 2 research publications after becoming Associate Professor as one of the first three authors.
• Must have completed the Basic Course in Biomedical Research from a recognized medical institution.

For Associate Professor

• Qualification: MD/MS in the concerned subject.
• Experience: 4 years as Assistant Professor in a recognized medical institution (or 5 years for those directly appointed), OR 5 years clinical experience with 3 years as Assistant Professor in Armed Forces teaching hospital.
• Research: At least 2 research publications after becoming Assistant Professor as one of the first three authors.
• Basic Course in Biomedical Research required.

For Assistant Professor

• Qualification: MD/MS in the concerned subject.
• Experience: 1 year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject as per Regulation 8 in a recognized medical institution, OR Armed Forces Specialist Medical Officer with 1 year teaching or 2 years clinical experience after PG qualification.
• Non-teaching Consultants/Specialists with 2+ years in 220-bed Government hospitals are also eligible.

For Senior Resident

• Qualification: Post-graduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned subject as per NMC norms.
• Updated NMC/State Medical Council Registration with all post-MBBS qualifications is mandatory.

Note: In Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Pharmacology departments, non-medical candidates with M.Sc. + PhD (done in a Medical College as per NMC norms) can also apply.

Age Limit

• Teaching Faculty (Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor): Maximum 69 years (not exceeding).
• Senior Resident: Maximum 45 years.
• Senior Resident (Non-clinical subjects): Maximum 50 years.
• Age Reference Date: 19 April 2026 (same date for eligibility of qualifying degree and experience).
• Maximum tenure: Will be till 70 years of age for teaching faculty, whichever is earlier.
• Age Relaxation: Reservation for PH (Divyangjan) as per Government of India norms. OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate should be issued not prior to 1 year from interview date.

Salary

Fixed basic pay as per OM no. Z-11012/51/2022-Med VI dated 08.12.2022:

• Professor: Fixed basic pay Rs. 1,23,100/month + other allowances as admissible.
• Associate Professor: Fixed basic pay Rs. 78,800/month + other allowances as admissible.
• Assistant Professor: Fixed basic pay Rs. 67,700/month + other allowances as admissible.
• Senior Resident: Fixed basic pay Rs. 67,700/month + other allowances as admissible.

Note: No service benefits like PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Medical Benefits, Seniority or Promotion will be admissible. Retired employees/pensioners may draw full pay without deduction and continue to receive pension and dearness relief. No private practice is allowed after joining.

• All Other Categories (UR/OBC/EWS Male): Rs. 500
• Payment Mode: Through Demand Draft in favor of ESI Fund A/c No.-1 payable at Varanasi.
• Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Email Application Screening: Send your scanned Application Form with supporting documents to dean-varanasi.up@esic.gov.in by/before 5:00 PM on 19 April 2026. Applications received after this deadline or in any other format will be summarily rejected.
2. Document Verification: Carry original Application Form + supporting documents + original Demand Draft to the Office of the Dean, 2nd Floor, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Pandeypur, Varanasi between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on your scheduled interview date.
3. Walk-in Interview: Selection is based on your academic credentials and performance before the Selection Board. Mode of interview can be offline or online. Result will be displayed on www.esic.gov.in and offer of appointment will be sent through email.
