Fakir Mohan University (FMU), Vyasa Vihar, Nuapadhi, Balasore (Odisha) has released Letter No. FMU-Estt.(T)-II-04/2026/4148 dated 02.05.2026 inviting online applications to fill up 53 regular faculty positions, including backlog vacancies, across 20 Post Graduate Departments. The selection is governed by UGC Notification dated 18th July 2018 and subsequent amendments. Applications must be submitted through the Odisha HIMS portal at himsrecruitment.odisha.gov.in.

Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Professor

• Qualification: Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian university or accredited foreign university
• NET/Ph.D.: Must have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) OR awarded Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016
• 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST/PwD candidates

For Associate Professor

• Qualification: Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline
• Master's degree with at least 55% marks
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor
• Publications: Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
• Research Score: Minimum 75 as per UGC Regulation 2018 Appendix II Table 2

For Professor

• Qualification: Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline
• Publications: Minimum 10 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
• Research Score: Minimum 120 as per UGC Regulation 2018 Appendix II Table 2
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of teaching as Assistant/Associate/Professor or equivalent research experience, with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates
• OR Outstanding professional with Ph.D. and 10 years of significant contribution to the discipline

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 60 years as on the closing date of application
• Candidates who have completed 60 years of age are not eligible to apply

Salary

• Assistant Professor: Pay Level 10 (Academic) as per UGC 7th CPC norms
• Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A (Academic) as per UGC 7th CPC norms
• Professor: Pay Level 14 (Academic) as per UGC 7th CPC norms
• Plus DA, HRA and other allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha
• Pay and other allowances are governed by Odisha University Grants Commission rules

• SC / ST: Rs. 600
• PwD: No fee
• Payment mode: Online only through the HIMS portal
• Fee is non-refundable. Separate applications and fee are required for each post.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on screening of applications and interview:

1. Online Application Screening: Applications received online by the closing date will be screened
2. Eligibility Verification: List of eligible and ineligible candidates will be displayed on the University website
3. Academic/Research Score Evaluation: For Professor and Associate Professor posts, the Academic/Research Score as per UGC Regulation 2018 Appendix II Table 2 will be evaluated
4. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview before the Selection Committee constituted as per Odisha University Act 1989
5. Document Verification: Original certificates will be verified at the time of interview

No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview. Selection is governed by UGC Regulations 2018 (Appendix II Table 3A for Assistant Professor, Table 2 for Associate Professor and Professor).
