Gun Carriage Factory (GCF) Jabalpur Tradesman Recruitment 2026 - 23 Posts

Gun Carriage Factory (GCF), Jabalpur, a unit of Advanced Weapons & Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) under the Ministry of Defence, is hiring experienced tradesmen on a one-year contract. GCF is one of India's oldest and most important defence production units, manufacturing platforms for 155 mm Dhanush, LFG, MBT Kavach, and other critical armoured vehicles. The contract may be extended based on factory needs and your performance. This is a great opportunity for ITI-qualified skilled workers with hands-on CNC, electronics, and machining experience.

Who Can Apply?

For Machinist, CNC Operator, Millwright, Fitter Electronics, and Electroplater (Sl No. 01 to 05):

• Qualification: You need a Diploma or Degree from a recognized institute, or NTC/NAC from NCTVT/NCST/SCVT recognized institutes or any Government/Private Organization affiliated with the Government.
• Skills: You should be able to interpret technical drawings, handle overhead crane pendant control, and follow safety and quality protocols.

For Examiner (UT Testing) - Sl No. 06:

• Qualification: You must be 10th pass and hold a valid certificate of training in Level-II in UT from ISNT/ASNT.

For Examiner (Mechanical Testing) - Sl No. 07:

• Qualification: You must be 10th pass and hold a valid certificate of training in Level-II in MPI from BARC/ISNT/ASNT.

Experience (All Posts):

• Experience: You need 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in your trade from a reputed company/organization, supported by an experience certificate from your employer.
• You must also provide a self-declared brief description of machines worked on, jobs manufactured, and knowledge of programming (where applicable).

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on the last date of receipt of application (11 April 2026).
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (for posts reserved for SC/ST)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (for posts reserved for OBC)
• Ex-Serviceman: Period of Military Service + 3 years
• PWD: Up to 10 years relaxation as per government policy

Salary

• Skilled (SKD): Basic Pay of Rs. 19,900 per month + Dearness Allowance (DA)
• Highly Skilled (HS): Basic Pay of Rs. 25,500 per month + Dearness Allowance (DA)
• You will get an annual increment of 3% on Basic Pay if your performance is satisfactory.
• You will be eligible for EPF (Provident Fund) as per government guidelines.
• Company Quarters available on a first-come, first-served basis at nominal charges.
• Leave: 12 days paid leave per year, pro-rated for the contract duration.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Practical Test / Trade Test: You will be tested on your actual skills in the relevant trade. Weightage will be given to your hands-on experience and capability.
2. Interview: Your relevant work experience, knowledge of machines, and programming skills (where applicable) will be evaluated.

Note: If you do not submit the self-declaration on detailed experience, you will not be called for the interview.

• Operate and program CNC machines (Siemens/Fanuc) for precision machining of defence components
• Carry out maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical and industrial equipment
• Read and interpret technical drawings for manufacturing and quality control tasks
• Perform ultrasonic testing, tensile testing, and other quality checks on finished products
• Handle electroplating, chemical surface treatment, and post-treatment finishing of metallic components
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain quality standards as per factory requirements
• Operate overhead cranes, hoisting equipment, and rigging systems for moving heavy machinery
