Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (HBCH&RC), New Chandigarh is hiring 8 HBNI Certified Fellows in various oncology super-specialities. This is a 2-year tenured non-permanent fellowship certified by Homi Bhabha National Institute (a Deemed University). Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai is a Grant-In-Aid institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. HBCH&RC, New Chandigarh is a unit of TMC and an Off-Campus Centre of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). The fellowship is offered for 8 medical specialities and the tenure starts from 01 August 2026. Selected fellows may be placed or rotated across HBCH&RC New Chandigarh and HBCH Sangrur as per institutional needs. Indian nationals with relevant medical PG qualifications can apply.

Who Can Apply?

For Interventional Radiology:

• MD (Radio-diagnosis) or equivalent PG degree
• 1 year of relevant experience will be preferred

For Gastroenterology and HPB Oncology:

• M.Ch/DNB (Surgical Gastroenterology) or M.Ch/DNB (Surgical Oncology) or MS (General Surgery)
• 1 year of relevant experience will be preferred

For Haemato Oncology:

• DM (Medical Oncology) / DM (Haematology) or MD (Medicine) / MD (Pediatric)
• 1 year of relevant experience will be preferred

For Nuclear Theranostics:

• MD/DNB in Nuclear Medicine
• 1 year of relevant experience will be preferred

For Orthopedic Oncology:

• MS/DNB (Orthopedics)
• 1 year of relevant experience will be preferred

For Thoracic Oncology:

• M.Ch/DNB Surgical Oncology / DNB (Thoracic Surgery) or MS (General Surgery)
• 1 year of relevant experience will be preferred

For Head & Neck Oncology:

• MS (General Surgery / E.N.T) or equivalent PG degree
• 1 year of relevant experience will be preferred

For Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery:

• M.Ch/DrNB (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery) or MS (General Surgery)
• 1 year of relevant experience will be preferred

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years as on 31 July 2026
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Physically Handicapped candidates
• Further age relaxation will be considered for candidates serving in Government Institutes / Medical Colleges

Salary and Fellowship Terms

• This is a 2-year tenured fellowship commencing from 01 August 2026
• The fellowship is a HBNI Certified Fellowship recognized by Homi Bhabha National Institute (Deemed to be University) and HBCH&RC, New Chandigarh
• Sharing hostel accommodation on campus may be provided subject to availability and on payment basis
• Hostel charges will be deducted every month from stipend / salary as per institutional policy
• It is mandatory for hostel residents to avail in-house cafeteria / mess facility. Mess charges of Rs. 27,000 for six months (non-refundable) will be deducted

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Entrance Examination: Tentatively in June 2026. The exam may be subjective or objective
2. Viva-Voce / Interview: Followed after the entrance exam

• Undergo a 2-year HBNI Certified Fellowship training in the assigned oncology speciality
• Provide clinical care to cancer patients at HBCH&RC New Chandigarh and HBCH Sangrur as per institutional rotation
• Participate in academic, teaching and research activities of the department
• Assist consultants in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures relevant to your speciality
• Attend ward rounds, OPD clinics and tumour boards regularly
• Maintain accurate patient records, follow up notes and case summaries
• Present cases in academic meetings, journal clubs and clinical conferences
• Follow all clinical protocols and ethical guidelines of HBNI and Tata Memorial Centre
