HPRCA Sports Coach Recruitment 2026 – 14 Posts

Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA), Hamirpur has released Advertisement No. 10/2026 for the scheme-based engagement of Sports Coaches in specified Sports Hostels across the state. These are 14 posts across 7 sports disciplines — Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Kabaddi, Badminton, Boxing, and Hockey — under the Department of School Education, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The engagement is purely temporary for 5 years with no right to regularisation against any sanctioned post. If you have participated at University, State, National or International level in your sport and hold a coaching diploma, this is your chance to serve Himachal Pradesh government sports hostels.

Note: All 14 posts are currently under the General (Unreserved) category. The number of posts is tentative and may increase or decrease. Fresh requisitions received up to 31.07.2026 may be included.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualifications (same for all sports disciplines)

• Graduation: Bachelor's degree from a recognised University or affiliated Institution.
• Coaching Diploma: One-year Diploma in Coaching from a National Institute of Sports (NIS) in India in the concerned sport — OR — Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching from a recognised State Sports University in the concerned sport.
• Sports Participation: Must have participated at University / State / National / International level championship in the concerned sport.

School/Institution Condition

• You must have passed Matriculation (10th) and 10+2 from a school or institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.

Desirable Qualification

• Knowledge of customs, manner and dialects of Himachal Pradesh, and suitability for appointment in the conditions of the state.

Other Important Conditions

• Reserved category benefit (reservation and fee concession) is available only to bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh. Candidates from other states are treated as General (UR) candidates.
• You must apply for the specific sport you are qualified in — multiple application forms for the same post will be rejected.
• Selected coaches can be posted anywhere in Himachal Pradesh as per department requirements.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years of age as on 01 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation (for HP domicile candidates only): SC / ST / OBC / PwD / HP Government employees / Ex-servicemen of Himachal Pradesh — up to 5 years relaxation, as per state government rules.

Salary / Honorarium

• Fixed honorarium of Rs. 25,000 per month for all posts.
• The honorarium is payable for 10 months per academic year under the CBSE Schools "Sub Scheme for Engagements as Professional/English and Mathematics Teacher with Fixed Honorarium".
• This engagement is not a government service. Coaches are not government employees. Government medical rules, leave rules, CCS/CCA rules, and pension rules do not apply.
• The engagement period shall not be counted for any service benefits or pension purposes.

Application Fee

• All categories: Rs. 800 (Rs. 100 examination fee + Rs. 700 processing fee)
• Correction window fee: Rs. 100 (payable if you need to correct your ORA after submission)
• Payment mode: Online only — Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking. No offline payment accepted.
• Refund: Fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Selection Process

Selection will happen in 2 stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Screening Test — 120 marks, 1.5 hours: The test has 120 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 1 mark. The syllabus covers: (a) Subjects/fields up to the level of the prescribed essential qualification in the concerned sport, and (b) General Knowledge including General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh, Current Affairs, Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English, and General Hindi (all at Matric standard). Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for General category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/Wards of Freedom Fighters. In case of multiple shifts, scores will be normalised using the Z-Score Method.
2. Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted from CBT/Written Test will be called for document verification. You must produce original certificates and self-attested photocopies of your printed ORA form, degree, diploma, sports participation certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), and BPL certificate (if applicable).

Final selection is based on merit in the CBT/Written Screening Test, subject to document verification.

How to Apply

1. Go to the official HPRCA website at hprca.hp.gov.in.
2. Register on the One Time Registration (OTR) portal before filling the ORA.
3. Log in and fill the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) form for the specific sport post you want to apply for.
4. Upload your scanned photograph (passport size, JPG/JPEG/PNG, max 1 MB, not older than 1 month) and scanned signature (JPG/JPEG/PNG, max 1 MB).
5. Pay the application fee of Rs. 800 online using Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
6. Submit the form and save/print your ORA for future reference.
7. Bring the printed ORA along with original documents and self-attested photocopies at the time of document verification.

No offline application forms will be accepted. Applications through fax or post will not be entertained.

• Train athletes in the assigned sport at government Sports Hostels across Himachal Pradesh
• Plan and conduct regular practice sessions, drills, and skill development activities for students
• Monitor the physical fitness and performance progress of each athlete under your care
• Prepare students for inter-school, district, state, and national level sports competitions
• Maintain proper records of attendance, training schedules, and student performance data
• Follow the rules and regulations of the Department of School Education and the CBSE sub-scheme governing the engagement
• Report to the hostel warden and department officials on student progress and any disciplinary matters
• Assist in organising sports events and activities within the hostel and school campus
