Indian Coast Guard Region (East) Store Keeper Grade-I Recruitment 2026

The Commander, Coast Guard Region (East) has invited applications for the post of Store Keeper Grade-I in General Central Service, Group C, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is to be filled on deputation basis from officers under the Central Government holding analogous posts. The place of posting is the Coast Guard Region (East) Headquarters, Fort St George, Chennai.

Who Can Apply?

  • Employment Status: You must be a Central Government employee currently working in an analogous Stores post on a regular basis.
  • Educational Qualification: 10th standard (Matriculation) or equivalent pass from a recognised board.
  • Experience: Working knowledge of stores procedure, inventory management, and accounting of stores in a Central Government department, public sector undertaking, or autonomous body.
  • Service Conditions: The deputation will be governed by the standard terms and conditions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India.

Salary

  • Pay Level: Level-4 (7th CPC)
  • Pay range: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month
  • Plus DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules
  • Deputation allowance as per DoPT rules will be admissible

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following stages:

  1. Scrutiny of Applications: All applications received from the parent department through proper channel will be scrutinised against the eligibility criteria.
  2. Shortlisting: Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on educational qualification, experience and length of service.
  3. Personal Interaction/Interview: Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview at the Coast Guard Region (East) office.
  4. Document Verification and Cadre Clearance: Original documents, ACR/APAR dossiers, vigilance clearance and integrity certificate from the parent department will be verified before final selection.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain stock registers, ledger cards and stores inventory for the Coast Guard Region (East) HQ
  • Handle receipt, inspection, issue and accounting of stores and equipment
  • Prepare indents, demand notes and supply orders as per government rules
  • Conduct periodic physical verification and reconciliation of stores
  • Maintain records of consumable and non-consumable stores in approved formats
  • Coordinate with vendors and units for timely supply and disposal of stores
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly stores returns as per Ministry of Defence procedures
  • Assist senior officers in audit and inspection of stores section

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

10th standard (Matriculation) or equivalent from a recognised board. Currently serving as a Central Government employee in an analogous Stores post on regular basis.

Preferred Qualification

Diploma in Materials Management or Stores Accounting. Working knowledge of computerised inventory systems.
