IIM Shillong Academic Associate (Teaching) Recruitment 2026

Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong), one of India's premier management institutions established in 2007, has invited applications for the position of Academic Associate (Teaching) under Advertisement No. B1-2303/2/2025-ADMN/761. This is a contractual role for 2 years, extendable by one additional year based on your performance. The institute is looking for Ph.D. holders across multiple management disciplines to contribute to its teaching and academic mission.

Academic Areas Available

• Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources

The number of positions will be filled as per requirement depending on the academic area(s) and the institute's needs.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: You must hold a Ph.D. in the appropriate branch with First Class or equivalent in the preceding degree, along with a very good academic record throughout.
• Master's Degree: First Class or equivalent grade is required.
• Bachelor's Degree: You need at least High Second Class (minimum 55%) or equivalent.
• University Recognition: All qualifications must be from a UGC-recognized University, Deemed University, or AICTE-approved autonomous institution.
• Relaxation for Reserved Categories: SC/ST/DAP candidates get 5% relaxation, and OBC candidates get 3% relaxation in Master's and Bachelor's degree marks.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on the last date of publication of the advertisement.
• Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/DAP and OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.

Salary

• You will receive a fixed remuneration of Rs. 70,000 per month.
• This is a consolidated amount with no separate allowances mentioned.
• The contract is for 2 years, extendable by 1 additional year based on your performance.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written examination for this position. Selection will be done in these stages:

1. Screening of Applications: The Screening Committee will shortlist applications based on eligibility criteria and other relevant parameters. The committee reserves the right to set additional criteria beyond the minimum requirements.
2. Seminar: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to present a seminar. This evaluates your subject knowledge and teaching ability.
3. Interview: You will face a personal interview conducted by the Selection Committee. The decision of the Screening Committee is final.

Note: Simply meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee an interview call.

• Assist faculty members in preparing course materials, case studies, and teaching aids for management programs.
• Conduct tutorials, workshops, and supplementary teaching sessions for PGP, PGPEx, and other programs.
• Prepare and grade assignments, projects, and examination papers under faculty guidance.
• Carry out independent research in your area of specialization and contribute to working papers and publications.
• Support faculty in organizing guest lectures, seminars, and academic events.
• Mentor students on academic projects and help them with research methodology.
• Manage course-related data, student records, and academic documentation using the institute's systems.
