IIT Ropar Senior Project Associate (Post Doc) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) has released a notification for 1 Senior Project Associate (Post Doc) position under the Agriculture and Water Technology Development Hub (AWaDH). AWaDH is a Technology Innovation Hub established by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). This is a research-focused post-doctoral position dealing with agricultural technology, indoor farming, and cyber-physical systems. Fresh PhD holders with a Mechanical, Design, Aerospace, or Production Engineering background are ideal candidates for this role.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualifications:

• Education: You must hold a Bachelor's degree in any Engineering or equivalent, a Master's degree in an allied discipline with a good academic record, and a PhD degree in Engineering (at least thesis submitted).
• Specialization: At least one of your degrees (Bachelor's or Master's) must be in Mechanical, Design, Aerospace, or Production Engineering.
• Freshness: Fresh PhD holders will be preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• GATE or CSIR-NET qualified (need not be currently valid)
• Minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST candidates)
• Strong writing ability, oral communication skills, and ability to multitask
• Two or more SCI-listed journal publications
• Relevant industrial experience
• Interest in farming, agriculture, indoor farming, or farm machinery design
• Hands-on experience with automation, sensors, cyber-physical systems design, electronics, and cloud-based programming
• Practical experience manufacturing machine tool components
• PhD obtained from an institute other than IIT Ropar

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years

Salary

• You will receive Rs 57,000 per month plus HRA as per DST norms.
• Suitable accommodation on the IIT Ropar campus may be provided based on availability.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email for the next stage.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The committee reserves the right to limit the number of candidates called.
3. Document Verification: You will need to produce original documents supporting all your educational and professional qualifications when asked.
