Selection Process
Selection is straightforward and entirely merit-based, followed by an Interview/Viva-Voce carrying 20 marks. You need a minimum of 7 marks in the interview to qualify. The Selection Committee comprises the Executive Chairman of MSLSA or Hon'ble Judges nominated by the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court. The final recommended list goes to the Chief Justice for approval, so the process is transparent and judicially supervised.
Interviews may be conducted physically at Bombay High Court premises or virtually -- candidates can choose their preferred mode. If you opt for the virtual interview, you must be present at a DLSA office in Maharashtra during the session.

Responsibilities
- Adjudicate disputes related to Public Utility Services at the Permanent Lok Adalat
- Conduct sittings and hearings as scheduled by the Permanent Lok Adalat
- Facilitate amicable settlement of disputes between parties
- Discharge additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chairman, MSLSA
- Ensure fair and timely resolution of cases pertaining to transport, telecom, insurance, postal services, and other public utilities
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Graduate Degree with knowledge and experience in Public Utility Services
Preferred Qualification
Experience in legal services, consumer disputes, or public utility sector operations
Required Skills
Knowledge of Public Utility Services as defined under Section 22-A of the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987, Proficiency in Marathi (speaking, reading, writing, and translation to/from English)

Interview/Viva-Voce:

The Selection Committee consists of the Executive Chairman of MSLSA or Hon'ble Judges nominated by the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court and the Patron-in-Chief of MSLSA. The final list of selected candidates is subject to the approval of the Hon'ble Chief Justice, Bombay High Court.

- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India
- Tenure: 5 years or until age 65, whichever is earlier
- Conflict of Interest: Must not have personal, financial or other interest conflicting with Member duties
- Post-Tenure Restriction: For 5 years after ceasing to hold office, former Member shall not be associated with management of any organisation that was party to proceedings before the Permanent Lok Adalat
- Transferability: Post is transferable to other Permanent Lok Adalats within Maharashtra
