National Investigation Agency (NIA) Legal Experts of Eminence Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), functioning under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is the country's central counter-terrorism law enforcement agency. NIA has invited applications from distinguished legal professionals for 2 posts of Legal Experts of Eminence on a contractual basis. There is no written exam — selection is based on screening and interview. This is a rare opportunity for senior legal professionals to contribute to national security, transnational crime investigations, and criminal justice reforms at the highest level.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 1,25,000 per month.
  • This is a contractual engagement and the salary is fixed (no separate DA, HRA, or other allowances).

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be based on your qualifications and experience. There is no competitive written exam.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and reviewing legal frameworks, policies, and legislative proposals

  • Advise on treaty interpretation and international legal cooperation matters
  • Support prosecution teams with legal strategy and case preparation in NIA Special Courts
  • Prepare advisory notes on criminal justice reforms and emerging security challenges
  • Review and analyse case files from a constitutional and international law perspective

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Expertise in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and Public International Law with experience in legislative drafting, policy formulation, and treaty interpretation

Preferred Qualification

Experience in international criminal law, comparative legal research, advisory work relating to national security, transnational crime, and criminal justice reforms
