Who Can Apply?

Full Time Medical Officer / Part Time Medical Officer / Medical Officer (RNTCP)

  • Qualification: MBBS degree registered with MCI / Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC)
  • For MO-RNTCP: Compulsory rotatory internship must be completed. Preferred — Diploma/MD in Public Health, PSM, Community Medicine, CHA, Tuberculosis & Chest Diseases. One year of NTEP work experience and basic computer knowledge are preferred.

Medical Superintendent

  • Qualification: MBBS with MS or MD degree registered with MCI / Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC)

Physician

  • Qualification: MD in Medicine or DNB, with MCI / Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) registration

Anaesthetist

  • Qualification: MD in Anaesthesia / DA / DNB, with MCI / Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) registration

Staff Nurse

  • Qualification: GNM or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognised institution
  • Valid registration with Maharashtra Nursing Council is mandatory

Pharmacist (NUHM) & Pharmacist (RNTCP)

  • Qualification: D.Pharma or B.Pharma with MSPC registration
  • For RNTCP Pharmacist: Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised university. Preferred — 1 year experience in managing a drug store in a reputed hospital/health centre. Computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, statistical packages) is preferred.

Public Health Manager

  • Qualification: MBBS or Medical Graduate in Health Science (BDS / BAMS / BHMS / BUMS / B.P.B.Sc) with additional qualification in MPH / MHA / MBA in Health Care Administration
  • OR B.Pharma with MPH / MHA / MBA in Health Care Administration

City Health Quality Coordinator

  • Qualification: Any Medical Graduate in Science — MBBS / BAMS / BUMS / BHMS / BDS — with MPH / MHA / MBA in Health Care Administration

Age Limit

  • Medical Officers, Medical Superintendent, Physician, Anaesthetist, MO-RNTCP: Maximum age 60 years for entry; retirement age is 70 years. Candidates above 60 years must submit a fitness certificate from the District Civil Surgeon.
  • Staff Nurse, Pharmacist (NUHM & RNTCP): Maximum age 45 years
  • Public Health Manager: Maximum age 36 years (Open category), 43 years (OBC/reserved categories)
  • City Health Quality Coordinator: Maximum age 36 years (Open category), 43 years (reserved categories)
  • Age is calculated as on the date of the notification (15 April 2026).
  • NUHM programme staff currently working under the scheme get a 5-year age relaxation.

Salary

  • Medical Superintendent / Physician / Anaesthetist: Rs. 90,000 per month
  • Full Time Medical Officer / MO-RNTCP: Rs. 60,000 per month
  • City Health Quality Coordinator: Rs. 35,000 per month
  • Public Health Manager: Rs. 32,000 per month
  • Part Time Medical Officer: Rs. 30,000 per month
  • Staff Nurse: Rs. 20,000 per month
  • Pharmacist (NUHM & RNTCP): Rs. 19,000 per month
  • All posts are contractual — fixed pay with no government service benefits.

Selection Process

Selection differs by post type:

For Medical Officers, Medical Superintendent, Physician, Anaesthetist (Direct Interview)

  1. Walk-in Interview: Candidates need to appear with all original documents on the specified interview date. Selection is based on a structured scoring system of total 50 marks:
    • Subject Knowledge: 10 marks
    • Research & Academic Knowledge: 10 marks
    • Leadership Quality: 10 marks
    • Administrative Abilities: 10 marks
    • Experience: 10 marks (Government experience: 2 marks/year, Private experience: 1 mark/year, max 10 marks)
  2. Document Verification

For Staff Nurse, Pharmacist, Public Health Manager, City Health Quality Coordinator (Merit-Based)

  1. Academic Merit Scoring: Based on final year percentage of basic qualification (scaled to 50 marks using proportion formula). Higher qualification in the relevant subject adds 20 more proportional marks.
  2. Experience Marks: Only government/NHM-related experience counts — 6 marks per year for contractual NHM staff. Outsourced/private experience is NOT counted. Maximum 30 marks. No interview for these posts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary medical care and treatment to patients at urban health centres under NWCMC
  • Maintain patient records, prescriptions, and health data as per NHM reporting standards
  • Administer medicines, manage drug inventory, and ensure proper dispensing at the health centre
  • Assist in planning and implementing urban health programmes including immunisation and disease control
  • Coordinate with government health teams and supervisors for NUHM/RNTCP programme activities
  • Conduct community outreach, health education sessions, and follow-up for TB and other notified diseases
  • Prepare and submit programme reports, data, and statistics as required by the district and state health office
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, maintain a clean and safe clinical environment

Exam Pattern

There is no written exam for any of these posts. Selection is done through one of two methods depending on the post:

Method 1: Walk-in Interview (for Doctor posts)

A structured interview worth 50 marks total. You need to appear in person with all documents.

  • Subject Knowledge: 10 marks
  • Research & Academic Knowledge: 10 marks
  • Leadership Quality: 10 marks
  • Administrative Abilities: 10 marks
  • Experience: 10 marks (Government/NHM: 2 marks/year; Private: 1 mark/year; max 10 marks)

Method 2: Academic Merit (for Nurse, Pharmacist, Manager posts)

No interview. Selection based on marks scored in qualifying exams and experience.

  • Basic Qualification Marks: Proportional score based on final year percentage (scaled to 50). Example: 60% score = 60 x 50/100 = 30 marks.
  • Higher Qualification: Additional proportional marks (up to 20) for relevant higher degree
  • NHM/Government Experience: 6 marks per year (max 30 marks). Private/outsourced experience is NOT counted.
