This covers 400 Danger Building Workers (DBW) engaged in manufacturing and handling military explosives and ammunition, and 30 Graduate/Diploma Project Engineers in Chemical and Mechanical trades. Who Can Apply?

For Tenure Based DBW (400 Posts):

  • Main Trade: NCVT (NAC — National Apprenticeship Certificate) in AOCP (Attendant Operator Chemical Plant) trade. Priority is given to AOCP Trade Apprentices of Ordnance Factories and Government-affiliated organisations.
  • Feeder Trades (if AOCP candidates are insufficient): IMCP, MMCP, LACP, PPO, Fitter General, Machinist, Turner, Sheet Metal Worker, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Boiler Attendant, Mechanic Industrial Electronics, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic
  • Candidates from feeder trades will undergo a compulsory 1-month in-house training on safe handling of explosives and ammunition before job deployment
  • Candidates holding a DBW trade training completion certificate from an Ordnance Factory under MIL will get priority

For Project Engineer — Chemical Trade (15 Posts):

  • Graduate: B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, OR
  • Diploma: Diploma in Chemical Engineering, OR
  • Science Graduate: B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the major subjects
  • Plus: Apprenticeship in manufacturing/handling of ammunition and explosives (B.Sc. graduates may also hold apprenticeship in Chemical other than ammunition/explosives)

For Project Engineer — Mechanical Trade (15 Posts):

  • Graduate: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, OR
  • Diploma: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Plus: Apprenticeship in manufacturing/handling of ammunition and explosives

Age Limit

For DBW Posts:

  • You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on the last date of receipt of application
  • SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (for posts reserved for SC/ST)
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (for posts reserved for OBC)
  • Ex-Serviceman: Period of Military Service + 3 years
  • PwBD candidates are NOT eligible for DBW posts

For Project Engineer Posts:

  • Maximum age: 30 years as on 04 February 2026
  • SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation
  • PwBD (UR): 10 years; PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years; PwBD (OBC): 13 years
  • Ex-Serviceman: Service rendered in Army/Navy/Air Force + 3 years
  • If you are a former apprentice and the age bar comes in the way, it will be relaxed by the period of your apprenticeship training

Salary

For Tenure Based DBW:

  • Basic Pay: Rs. 19,900 per month + Dearness Allowance (DA) as applicable
  • Annual increment of 3% on satisfactory performance
  • Also eligible for: HRA, Risk Allowance, Night Duty Allowance, EPF, Company Quarters (where available)

For Project Engineer (Chemical and Mechanical):

  • 1st Year: Rs. 36,000 per month
  • 2nd Year: Rs. 37,080 per month
  • 3rd Year: Rs. 38,192 per month
  • 4th Year: Rs. 39,338 per month
  • Also eligible for: Industrial DA (IDA), HRA, EPF, Company Quarters (where available)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

For DBW Posts:

  1. NCTVT (NAC) Marks — Weightage 80%: Candidates are shortlisted based on marks scored in the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) exam. Cut-off percentage is decided by OFCH.
  2. Trade Test / Practical Test — Weightage 20%: Shortlisted candidates appear in a hands-on trade test at Ordnance Factory Chanda.
  3. Document Verification: Candidates qualifying (in order of merit) are called for document verification. Number of candidates called equals number of notified posts (category-wise).

Final Merit = NAC Exam marks (80%) + Trade Test marks (20%)

For Project Engineer Posts:

  1. Degree/Diploma Marks — Weightage 85%: Separate merit lists for Graduate and Diploma Project Engineers. Cut-off percentage for interview is decided by the factory.
  2. Personal Interaction / Interview — Weightage 15%: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview at Ordnance Factory Chanda.
  3. Document Verification: Candidates who clear the interview are called for document verification.

Final Merit = Degree/Diploma Marks (85%) + Interview (15%)

Responsibilities

  • Handle manufacturing and safe handling of military explosives, ammunition, and hazardous chemicals inside Danger Buildings
  • Follow strict safety norms, Standard Operating Procedures, and factory regulations at all times
  • Operate and maintain chemical plant equipment as per AOCP trade skills and assigned work orders
  • Work in shifts including night duty as required based on factory production demands
  • Assist senior personnel in quality control, inspection, and safe storage of ammunition components
  • Maintain accurate records of daily production activities and report any safety hazards immediately
  • Wear and use all prescribed personal protective equipment, safety gears, and kits as per company norms

NCVT (NAC) in AOCP or feeder trades (for DBW); B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering + Apprenticeship (for Project Engineer)

Preferred Qualification

AOCP Trade Apprentices from Ordnance Factories; candidates with DBW trade training completion certificate from MIL factories

Required Skills

Knowledge of safe handling of explosives and ammunition; ITI/NAC certification in relevant trade; apprenticeship in manufacturing/handling of ammunition for Project Engineers
