No. OFC/FTC/RECT/2026/01, and 35 posts across 7 different ITI trades under Advt. No. OFC/FTC/RECT/2026/02. Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) along with a National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprentice Certificate (NAC) issued by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in the relevant trade.
  • Relevant Trades (Advt 01): Machinist trade for all 116 posts.
  • Relevant Trades (Advt 02): Examiner (Engg) requires NTC/NAC in Machinist, Turner, or Miller trade. Electroplater requires Electroplater trade. Machinist requires Machinist trade. Heat Treatment Operator requires Forger and Heat Treator trade. Fitter General requires Fitter trade. Electrician/Wireman requires Electrician/Wireman trade. Welder requires TIG/MIG Welder certification.
  • Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on the last date of receipt of application (08 April 2026).
  • SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (only for posts reserved for SC/ST).
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (only for posts reserved for OBC).
  • Ex-Serviceman: Period of Military Service + 3 years.
  • PwD (General): 10 years relaxation.
  • PwD + SC/ST: 15 years relaxation.
  • PwD + OBC: 13 years relaxation.
  • Only your Class 10th Board Certificate/Marksheet will be accepted as proof of date of birth.

Salary

  • You will receive a consolidated monthly salary with a Basic Pay of Rs. 18,000 under 7th CPC Level-1.
  • Dearness Allowance (DA) will be paid as per current government rates on top of basic pay.
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be paid if factory quarters are not provided.
  • You will be covered under EPF (Employees' Provident Fund) as per government guidelines.
  • An annual increment of 3% on basic pay will be given each year based on satisfactory performance.
  • You will be eligible for Company Holidays on par with regular employees and 12 days paid leave per year.
  • The contract is initially for 1 year, extendable up to 4 years based on performance and factory requirements.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this recruitment. Selection is based on your ITI marks and a practical trade test:

  1. NCVT Marks Evaluation (80% Weightage): Your marks scored in the NCVT/NCTVT exam will carry 80% of the total weightage. A cut-off percentage for shortlisting to the trade test will be decided by OFC Kanpur based on total NCVT marks.
  2. Trade Test / Practical Test (20% Weightage): Shortlisted candidates will be called for a practical trade test conducted by Ordnance Factory Kanpur. This carries 20% of the total weightage.
  3. Document Verification: Candidates qualifying in the merit list (NCVT + Trade Test combined) will be called for document verification in order of merit, limited to the number of vacancies per category.
  4. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must pass a medical fitness test before joining.

Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of equal marks, preference goes to (i) Ex-Trade Apprentice of OFC Kanpur, FGK and SAF, (ii) Ex-Trade Apprentice of other Ordnance Factories, (iii) Higher NCVT marks, (iv) Elder candidate by date of birth.

Responsibilities

  • Operate precision machining equipment including lathes, milling machines, and CNC machines as per factory requirements
  • Follow technical drawings and blueprints to manufacture defence components to exact specifications
  • Handle quality inspection of machined parts using measuring instruments and gauges
  • Maintain assigned machines and tools in proper working condition through regular cleaning and basic upkeep
  • Work in shifts as per the production schedule, typically 8 hours per day for 6 days a week
  • Follow all factory safety protocols, wear protective gear, and report any hazards immediately
  • Keep accurate records of production output, material usage, and job completion status
  • Assist senior technicians and supervisors in meeting daily and weekly production targets

Selection Marking Scheme

There is no written exam for this recruitment. Your selection depends entirely on your ITI performance and a hands-on practical test:

  • NCVT/NCTVT Marks: 80% weightage -- Your marks from the National Council of Vocational Training exam form the bulk of your score. Higher your ITI percentage, better your chances.
  • Trade Test / Practical Test: 20% weightage -- You will be called to Ordnance Factory Kanpur for a practical skills assessment in your trade. This tests your hands-on ability with machines and tools.

Final merit = 80% of NCVT marks + 20% of Trade Test marks. A cut-off percentage will be applied to shortlist candidates for the trade test based on total NCVT marks secured.
