RITES DGM & JGM (Mechanical) Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited (RITES), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has issued Vacancy Circular No. 06/26 (D) for filling up 3 posts of Deputy General Manager and Joint General Manager in the Mechanical discipline. These positions are available on deputation or immediate absorption basis for serving Indian Railway officers. The tenure is 3 years, which can be extended further. RITES is a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy organization working in transport, infrastructure, and related technologies across India and abroad.

Vacancy Details

• Deputy General Manager (Mechanical): For IRSME officers at Senior Scale level
• Joint General Manager (Mechanical): For IRSME officers with 3 years of Senior Scale service

Total Posts: 3 (on deputation / immediate absorption basis)

Officers selected for these positions may be posted anywhere in India or abroad, depending on RITES project requirements.

Who Can Apply?

For Deputy General Manager (Mechanical):

• Service: You must be an IRSME (Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers) officer
• Level: You should be working at the Senior Scale level
• Pay Level: 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 11

For Joint General Manager (Mechanical):

• Service: You must be an IRSME officer
• Level: You should have completed at least 3 years of service in Senior Scale
• Pay Level: 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 11

Forwarded applications must include your last 5 years' APARs, Vigilance/DAR clearance, and details of any penalties on record.

Age Limit

• For Immediate Absorption: Maximum 55 years
• For Deputation: Maximum 57 years

Salary

• Pay Scale: 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 11 (Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month basic pay)
• Officers on deputation will continue to draw their existing pay plus deputation allowances as per Ministry of Railways guidelines
• Allowances: DA, HRA, and other benefits as per RITES company rules
• Accommodation will be provided as per RITES company rules

• No application fee is charged for deputation posts

Selection Process

The selection will be done through a structured evaluation and interview:

1. Educational Qualification: 15-20 marks
2. Vigilance/DAR History: 10 marks
3. Performance in Service (APARs): 25 marks
4. Work Experience & Managerial Competency: 15-20 marks
5. Interview: 50 marks (for deputation posts)

You need a minimum of 60% marks to be placed on the merit list for DGM/JGM positions. The selection process can be conducted from Regional Offices as well, and you can appear in Hindi or English.

Medical Examination: Selected candidates will need to pass a medical fitness test as per RITES rules.

• Handle mechanical engineering projects related to rolling stock, locomotive maintenance, and infrastructure
• Manage quality assurance and inspection activities for mechanical components and systems
• Prepare technical specifications, project reports, and cost estimates for mechanical works
• Coordinate with Indian Railways and other clients on mechanical engineering consultancy assignments
• Monitor project progress, ensure timely delivery, and maintain quality standards
• Guide and supervise junior engineers and project teams on mechanical engineering tasks
• Assist in export inspection and quality assessment of rolling stock for international projects
