Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has released Advertisement No. 524/RC/SSB/Combined Advt./CT to SI (Non-GD)/2025 for 7 Assistant Sub Inspector posts in paramedical trades including Radiographer, Pharmacist, Operation Theatre Technician, and Dental Technician. Who Can Apply?
ASI (Radiographer)
- Qualification: 12th class pass from a recognised Board
- Diploma: Minimum 2-year Diploma in Medical Imaging Technology or Radiography from a recognised institute
- Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Radiographer in a Radiology Imaging Centre or 100-bedded hospital recognised by the Central or State Government
ASI (Pharmacist)
- Qualification: 12th class pass from a recognised Board
- Diploma: 2-year Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution, registered as Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948
- Experience: Minimum 1 year as Pharmacist in a 100-bedded hospital recognised by the Central or State Government
ASI (Operation Theatre Technician)
- Qualification: 12th class pass from a recognised Board
- Diploma: 2-year Diploma Course in Operation Theatre Technology or Technician from a recognised institute
- Experience: Minimum 1 year working as an OT Technician in a 100-bedded hospital recognised by the Central or State Government
ASI (Dental Technician)
- Qualification: 12th class pass from a recognised Board
- Diploma: 2-year Diploma in Dental Hygienist from a recognised institution, registered with the Dental Council of India
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in a Dental Unit of a Dental Hospital or 100-bedded hospital recognised by the Central or State Government
Nationality: You must be a citizen of India. Citizens of Nepal and Bhutan are also eligible, subject to prior permission of the Central Government.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 27 years old as on 20 April 2026 (closing date of application).
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 32 years)
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (up to 30 years)
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years deduction from actual age after deducting military service rendered
- Departmental Candidates (Central Govt.): Up to 40 years (UR), 43 years (OBC), 45 years (SC/ST)
- J&K and Ladakh domicile (1980-1989): 5 years (UR), 8 years (OBC), 10 years (SC/ST)

Salary
- Selected candidates will get a basic pay of Rs. 29,200 per month (entry pay) under Level-5 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
- Maximum basic pay at this level goes up to Rs. 92,300 per month.
- You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), Ration Money Allowance, House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances as per SSB and Government of India rules.
- Pension: New Pension Scheme (NPS) for candidates joining after 01 January 2004, or Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) for those joining after 01 April 2025.

Height Requirements (Male)
- General/UR/EWS/SC/OBC: Minimum 165 cm
- Scheduled Tribes (all UTs/Districts): Minimum 160 cm
- ST from NE States (Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura): Minimum 155 cm
- ST from Left Wing Extremism affected Districts: Minimum 158 cm
- Garhwali, Kumaoni, Dogras, Marathas + candidates from Assam, HP, J&K, Ladakh: Minimum 162.5 cm

Chest (Male Only)
- Minimum chest measurement: 75-80 cm (varies by category, with 5 cm expansion)
- Chest measurement is not applicable for female candidates.
Weight should be proportionate to height and age as per Annexure-VI of the notification. Overweight or underweight candidates may be disqualified at DME stage.

Selection Process
The selection will be done in 4 stages:
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Height and chest measurements as per the physical standards table. Candidates who meet the physical standards will move to the next stage.
- Written Examination (Computer Based Test): Paper-I is a Common Entrance Test of 50 marks covering General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General English/Hindi. Paper-II covers the Technical Subject for 100 marks. Total 150 marks in 3 hours. Minimum qualifying marks are 50% for General/EWS/OBC/Ex-SM and 45% for SC/ST.
- Document Verification and Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Candidates shortlisted at up to 3 times the vacancies (category-wise) will be called. All original documents, educational certificates, caste certificates, and Aadhaar Card will be verified. DME will be conducted as per Revised Medical Guidelines.
- Review Medical Examination (RME): Candidates declared unfit in DME can request a Review Medical Examination. The RME Board's decision is final.
Final Merit: The final selection list will be prepared in order of merit, category-wise, based on marks obtained in the written examination.

Responsibilities
- Provide paramedical support and healthcare services at SSB hospitals and medical facilities along India's borders
- Operate diagnostic and treatment equipment specific to your trade (X-ray machines, pharmacy dispensing, OT equipment, or dental instruments)
- Maintain proper records of patients, medicines, medical supplies, and equipment usage
- Assist medical officers during examinations, treatments, and emergency medical situations
- Follow standard operating procedures for infection control, sterilisation, and medical waste disposal
- Participate in physical training, drills, and field exercises as required under the combatised cadre
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure timely requisition and restocking

Exam Pattern
The written examination is a Computer Based Test (CBT) with 2 papers for a total of 150 marks. You will get 3 hours to complete both papers.
Paper-I: Common Entrance Test (50 Marks)
This paper has multiple choice objective questions covering 4 subjects:

- Reasoning
- General English / General Hindi
Paper-II: Technical Subject (100 Marks)
- Questions will be from your specific paramedical trade (Radiology, Pharmacy, OT Technology, or Dental Technology)
