UIIC CISO Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

United India Insurance Company Limited (UIIC) is a Government of India public sector general insurance company headquartered in Chennai. It is the second largest public sector general insurer in India, with over 1,400 offices across the country. UIIC is looking for an experienced information security professional to join as CISO at its Head Office. This is a senior leadership role in the cadre of Scale-6 Officer, and you will be responsible for the entire information and cyber security framework of the company.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification (as on 01.03.2026)

• Mandatory: Full-time Master's or Bachelor's Degree (First Division / 60% and above) in Engineering — Computer Science, Electronics & Electrical, Information Technology, or Electronics & Communication — from a recognized university. MCA from a recognized university is also accepted.
• Mandatory Certification: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and/or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), or any equivalent globally recognized cybersecurity certification. Must be valid as on the date of application.

Desirable Qualification

• Master's Degree (First Division / 60% and above) in Information Security, Cyber Security, Network Security, Information Systems, Technology Management, or Risk Management.
• Additional certifications like CISM, CCISO, CGEIT, ISO Lead Auditor, CRISC, CGRC, CCSK/CCSP, or other globally recognized cyber security certifications.

Experience (as on 01.03.2026)

• Mandatory: Minimum 10 years of experience in IT/Information Security, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (CISO, Deputy CISO, Head of Information Security, etc.).
• Desirable: Prior experience in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) sector.

• You must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 40 years
• Maximum Age: 55 years
• Age is calculated as on 01 March 2026.

Salary

• Annual Salary: Rs. 36,00,000 per year (all inclusive) — approximately Rs. 3,00,000 per month.
• Annual Increment: 5% to 10% based on your yearly performance review by the company management.
• Cadre: Scale-6 Officer level.
• Allowances: Travel Allowance, Halting Allowance, and other entitlements as per Scale-6 Officer norms.
• Leaves: 30 days per calendar year.
• Note: No PF, NPS, Gratuity, or superannuation benefits are applicable for this contract position.

Selection Process

1. Preliminary Screening & Shortlisting: UIIC will screen all applications based on your qualification, experience, and suitability as mentioned in the notification.
2. Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview, likely at the UIIC Head Office in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Virtual interview may be allowed on request. Travel reimbursement (economy air fare or 2nd AC train fare) will be provided for candidates called to Chennai.
3. Medical Examination: The selected candidate must pass a medical fitness test as per company standards.
4. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified during the interview process.

In case of a tie, the candidate with more experience in Information Security will be preferred.

• Develop and implement the Information and Cyber Security Policy (ICSP) and present it to the Information Security Risk Management Committee (ISRMC).
• Manage all Information Security procedures, standards, and ensure compliance with IRDAI CS guidelines and CERT-In requirements.
• Conduct and coordinate internal and external IT security audits, VAPT, and compliance assessments across the organization.
• Handle cyber incident response, forensic investigations, and coordinate with regulatory authorities for reporting security breaches.
• Lead the information security team including SOC, LAM, and DLP operations, and review their training and skill development needs.
• Perform risk assessments, Business Impact Analysis (BIA), and vendor security evaluations based on classification standards.
• Provide quarterly security status reports to the ISRMC and business groups, covering policy violations and IT security incidents.
• Drive implementation of ISO 27001 certification and ensure compliance with IRDAI, DPDP Act, and other regulatory frameworks.
