The vacancies cover 18 academic departments including Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Home Science, Mathematics, Odia, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics, and Zoology. 33% horizontal reservation for Women, 4% for PwBD and 1% for Sports Persons applies within vertical reservation. Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Professor (Pay Level-10)

• Master's degree with at least 55% marks in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university
• Plus NET / SLET / SET conducted by UGC/CSIR; or Ph.D degree as per UGC (Minimum Standards & Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016
• 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST/Non-creamy layer OBC/Differently abled candidates
• Ph.D from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in QS / THE / ARWU rankings also qualifies

For Associate Professor (Pay Level-13A)

• Ph.D degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline
• Master's degree with at least 55% marks
• Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience at the level of Assistant Professor in a University/College/Accredited Research Institution
• Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-CARE listed journals
• Total research score of 75 as per Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulations 2018

For Professor (Pay Level-14)

• An eminent scholar with a Ph.D degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline
• Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
• Total research score of 120 as per UGC Regulations 2018
• Minimum 10 years of teaching experience as Assistant/Associate/Professor with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates
• OR an outstanding professional with Ph.D from academic institutions/industry with significant contributions and 10 years of experience

Age Limit

• Candidates above 60 years are not eligible to apply
• Superannuation age in Odisha Higher Education is 60 years
• Age relaxation: As per Government of Odisha rules for reserved categories

Salary

• Professor: Pay Level-14, 7th CPC - Rs. 1,44,200 - Rs. 2,18,200 per month
• Associate Professor: Pay Level-13A, 7th CPC - Rs. 1,31,400 - Rs. 2,17,100 per month
• Assistant Professor: Pay Level-10, 7th CPC - Rs. 57,700 - Rs. 1,82,400 per month
• Plus DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Government of Odisha rules

Selection Process

Selection is based on screening, scrutiny and interview - no written examination for these regular faculty posts:

1. Online Application Screening: Applications scrutinised in 3 stages by the University
2. Shortlisting: Maximum 15 candidates per single post or candidates in 1:10 ratio for multiple posts, as per UGC Table 3A (Assistant Professor) and Table 2 (Associate Professor & Professor)
3. List of Eligible Candidates: Published on the University website at vikramdevuniversity.ac.in
4. Interview / Presentation: Candidates appear with a 9-slide PPT covering bio-data, subject domain strength, practical skills, contribution to Vikashit Bharat/Aatmnirbhar Bharat, AI in pedagogy, research projects, outreach activities, collaborations, and department contribution
5. Selection by Holistic Assessment: Cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains evaluated. No TA/DA paid for attending interview

For Assistant Professor, selection is based only on performance in interview (academic score used only for shortlisting).
