Who Can Apply?

For Professor (Academic Level 14):

  • Qualification: You need a Ph.D. degree in the concerned discipline with published work of high quality, at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total research score of 120.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates.

For Associate Professor (Academic Level 13A):

  • Qualification: You need a Ph.D. degree in the concerned discipline along with a Master's degree with at least 55% marks.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of teaching or research experience with at least 7 publications in peer-reviewed journals and a research score of 75.

For Assistant Professor (Academic Level 10):

  • Qualification: You need a Master's degree with 55% marks from a recognized university along with NET/SLET/SET qualification, or a Ph.D. degree as per UGC regulations.
  • Note: For performing arts posts (Graphic Art, Esraj, Manipuri Dance), traditional artists with Bachelor's degree and professional achievement may also be eligible.

For Assistant Librarian (Academic Level 10):

  • Qualification: You need a Master's degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 55% marks, along with knowledge of computerization of a library.
  • You must also have cleared NET/SLET/SET or hold a Ph.D. degree as per UGC regulations.

A relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) is allowed for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD candidates at both Bachelor's and Master's level.

Age Limit

  • There is no specific age limit mentioned in the notification for these teaching and library positions.
  • Relaxations: Standard relaxation for EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories will be given as per Government of India / UGC rules.

Salary

  • Professor: Academic Level 14 with entry pay of Rs. 1,44,200 per month

  • Assistant Professor: Academic Level 10 with entry pay of Rs. 57,700 per month
  • Assistant Librarian: Academic Level 10 with entry pay of Rs. 57,700 per month
  • You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Central Government rules.
  • Candidates appointed through this recruitment will be governed by the NPS (New Pension Scheme) unless specifically permitted for GPF-cum-Gratuity.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done through a merit-based process in 2 stages:

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:15 ratio based on Academic/Research score as per UGC Regulation 2018 (Appendix II: Table 2 & Table 3A). Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
  2. Interview: Selection will be based entirely on performance in the interview. The Academic score is used only for shortlisting purposes.

Note: Candidates already employed in government or university positions must apply through proper channel or submit a No Objection Certificate during the interview.

Shortlisting Process

If the number of applications is large, candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:15 ratio (15 candidates per vacancy) based on their Academic/Research score calculated as per UGC Regulation 2018.

  • For Professor: Research score of minimum 120 required, with at least 10 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals
  • For Associate Professor: Research score of minimum 75 required, with at least 7 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals
  • For Assistant Professor: Academic score as per Appendix II, Table 3A of UGC Regulations

Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Your selection will be based only on your interview performance. The academic score is used solely for shortlisting, not for final selection.

Candidates residing abroad may attend the interview through Skype or other audio-visual link, as permitted by the University.
