Salary

Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,44,300 per month under Pay Band 4A, Level 16 as per West Bengal Services (Revision of Pay and Allowances) Rules, 2019 (WBS ROPA 2019). In addition, Dearness Allowance (DA), Medical Allowance (MA), and House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be paid as per government rules.

Who Can Apply — Eligibility

Educational Qualification: You need any one of the following —

• Bachelor\'s degree in Commerce from a recognized university, OR
• Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) — i.e., Chartered Accountant (CA), OR
• Membership of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI/ICMAI) — i.e., Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), OR
• MBA or PGDM in Finance (two-year full-time) from an AICTE-approved institution, or equivalent post-graduation in Finance

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025):

• Maximum age: 36 years
• SC/ST of West Bengal: 5 years relaxation (up to 41 years)
• OBC-A and OBC-B of West Bengal: 3 years relaxation (up to 39 years)
• Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): up to 45 years

Experience: No prior work experience is required. Freshers are eligible to apply.

Language Requirement: Knowledge of Bengali is essential. Candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali are exempted from this requirement.

Selection Process

Selection will happen in the following stages:

1. Preliminary Exam — Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), used as a screening test
2. Main Exam — Descriptive papers (written exam)
3. Personality Test / Interview
4. Medical Examination
5. Document Verification

Qualifying Marks in Main Exam:

• Unreserved (UR): 40%
• OBC-A and OBC-B: 38%
• SC: 35%
• ST and PwBD: 30%
