All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has invited applications for 2 temporary positions under the ICMR-funded project (I-1986) titled "Integration of plasma and tissue-derived small-extracellular vesicle proteomic signatures with clinical outcomes to identify prognostic biomarkers for neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy response in locally advanced rectal cancer." The project is based in the Department of Pathology under the supervision of Prof. Prasenjit Das, and the engagement is for a duration of 3 years. Who Can Apply?

For Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical):

  • Essential Qualification: You must hold a Post Graduate Degree (including integrated PG degrees) in Life Sciences or Biomedical Sciences.
  • Desirable: 2 years of experience in molecular biology is preferred.

For Project Technical Support III:

  • Essential Qualification (Option 1): Three-year Graduate degree in Life Science along with three years of post-qualification experience.
  • Essential Qualification (Option 2): Post Graduate degree in a relevant subject or field.
  • Desirable: Three years of post-qualification experience is preferred.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age for both posts: 35 years.
  • Age Relaxation: Available for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD and other reserved categories as per Government of India norms.

Salary

  • Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): Rs. 56,000 + 30% HRA = Rs. 72,800 per month.
  • Project Technical Support III: Rs. 28,000 + 30% HRA = Rs. 36,400 per month.
  • These are consolidated monthly emoluments for the duration of the project (3 years).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of the ICMR-funded research project on rectal cancer biomarker identification in the Department of Pathology.
  • Handle collection, processing, and analysis of plasma and tissue samples for small-extracellular vesicle proteomic studies.
  • Perform molecular biology techniques including proteomics, Western blotting, ELISA, and related laboratory assays.
  • Maintain accurate records of all experimental data, reagent inventories, and laboratory protocols.
  • Prepare research reports, manuscripts, and presentations related to the project findings.
  • Work closely with the Principal Investigator and other team members to meet project milestones and timelines.
  • Follow all biosafety, ethical, and institutional guidelines while handling clinical specimens and laboratory equipment.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences or Biomedical Sciences (for Research Scientist); Three-year Graduate degree in Life Science with 3 years experience OR PG in relevant field (for Technical Support)

Preferred Qualification

2 years experience in molecular biology (for Research Scientist); 3 years post-qualification experience (for Technical Support)

Required Skills
