AIIMS Madurai Junior Resident (Non-Academic) Recruitment 2026 - 9 Posts

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Madurai (AIIMS Madurai) has released notification for 9 Junior Resident (Non-Academic) posts in its various departments. AIIMS Madurai is a healthcare institute of national importance established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), functioning under JIPMER Puducherry as its mentor institute. This is a temporary appointment for 1 year, renewable up to 3 terms (total 1.5 years). MBBS doctors who have completed their internship can apply.

• Unreserved (UR): 5 posts
• OBC: 1 post
• SC: 2 posts
• EWS: 1 post

4% reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) on horizontal basis as per Government rules.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed MBBS (including completion of Internship) or an equivalent degree recognized by MCI / NMC.
• Internship: You should have completed your internship on or before the closing date of application (10 April 2026).
• Medical Council Registration: MCI or State Medical Council registration is mandatory before joining, if selected.
• Residency Limit: If you have already completed 3 terms of Junior Residency anywhere in India, you are not eligible.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 33 years as on the closing date of application (10 April 2026).
• OBC: 3 years relaxation (up to 36 years)
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 38 years)
• PwBD (General): 10 years relaxation (up to 43 years)
• PwBD (OBC): 13 years relaxation (up to 46 years)
• PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years relaxation (up to 48 years)

Salary

• Pay Level 10 of 7th CPC: Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month (basic pay range).
• You will also receive Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) if applicable, along with DA, HRA, and other usual allowances as per Central Government rules.
• Note: This is a full-time appointment and private practice of any kind is prohibited.

• SC / ST / Women / PwBD: No fee (exempted)
• Payment Mode: SBI Collect only (online payment through SBI Net Banking, other bank net banking, credit card, or debit card)
• The fee is non-refundable. No other payment mode (cheque, MO, DD, cash) will be accepted.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on merit assessed through interview. If the number of candidates is large, a written test will also be conducted.

1. Document Verification and Screening: The Screening Committee will verify your documents and determine eligibility before the interview.
2. Written Test (if required): Conducted only if the number of candidates is more than what can be accommodated through direct interview.
3. Interview: Merit-based assessment. The decision of the Executive Director, AIIMS Madurai is final and binding.

How to Apply

1. Fill in the Google Form available at the AIIMS Madurai vacancy notices page (aiimsmadurai.edu.in).
2. Pay the application fee of Rs. 500 through SBI Collect (select category "GOVT / PSU / COURTS" and search for "ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, MADURAI").
3. Mention the advertisement number AIIMS-MDU/Recruitment-JR/01-16/2025-26/MARCH-008 in the Remarks column while paying.
4. Take a printout of the payment receipt.
5. When called for written test or interview, report to the temporary campus of AIIMS Madurai at Government Medical College Campus, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu - 623 503.
6. Bring the duly filled application form, payment receipt, original documents, and one set of self-attested photocopies along with two passport size photographs.

Do NOT send a hard copy of the application at this stage. Shortlisted candidates will submit documents at the time of verification or interview.

• Attend to patients in Casualty, Ward, OPD, and Emergency departments on rotation
• Assist senior doctors during ward rounds, surgeries, and medical procedures
• Conduct initial patient assessments, record medical histories, and order routine investigations
• Work in shifts including night duties as assigned by hospital management
• Perform medico-legal examinations and prepare required reports when posted in Casualty
• Manage casualty admissions and provide emergency medical care on duty days
• Maintain patient records, discharge summaries, and medical documentation
• Serve in rural health and urban centres attached to the institute when assigned
