AIIMS Rishikesh Project Technical Support-I Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh has invited applications for 1 Project Technical Support-I (Project Technician) position under the extramural research project titled "Investigative Centre of Advanced Research in Endotypes of T1D (i-CARE-T1D): A national referral centre for research in T1D." This is an ICMR-funded project housed in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism. The position is contractual for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs. If you hold a diploma in Medical Lab Technology or a BSc MLT degree with relevant experience, this is a solid opportunity to work in cutting-edge diabetes research at one of India's premier AIIMS institutions.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply through either of these two qualification routes:

Route A (Diploma holders):

• Qualification: 10th Pass + Diploma in MLT, DMLT, or ITI (or equivalent)
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in blood collection, centrifugation, storage, and shipping

Route B (Graduates):

• Qualification: Three-year graduate degree in a relevant field such as BSc MLT
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the relevant subject

Desirable Qualifications:

• Knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internet programs) with documentary proof
• Fluency in Hindi and English (both oral and written)
• Experience in immunology, molecular biology, or cell biology

Note: Persons already in regular time-scale service under any Government Department or Organization are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 35 years as on the last date of application (04 April 2026).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST and OBC candidates get relaxation as per Government of India rules issued from time to time.

Salary

• You will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 18,000 per month plus 10% HRA, totalling Rs. 19,800 per month (as per ICMR sanction letter).
• Note: This is a contractual position. Benefits like Provident Fund, Pension, LTC, Medical Claim, and Staff Quarters applicable to regular ICMR staff are not available for project positions.

Selection Process

The selection will involve the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on desirable criteria (computer knowledge, language proficiency, relevant research experience).
2. Written Test / Skill Test (if required): The institute may conduct a written or skill test depending on the number of applicants.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The date and list of eligible candidates will be posted on the AIIMS Rishikesh website.

• Collect blood and urine samples from study subjects and process them through centrifugation, pipetting, and storage in deep freezers
• Handle peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) separation and ensure proper storage protocols
• Manage safe transportation of biological samples between research sites
• Assist in patient recruitment for the i-CARE-T1D research project
• Coordinate project activities with PGI Chandigarh as the partnering institution
• Explain study procedures to participants and collect informed consent
• Perform data entry and compile research data in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
• Carry out all additional tasks assigned by the principal investigator toward project activities
