APPSC TGT (Secondary Level) Recruitment 2026 - 389 Posts

The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has announced the Trained Graduate Teacher Examination (Secondary Level) 2026, vide Advertisement No. 02/2026 dated 23 March 2026. This is a massive recruitment drive covering 14 subjects including English, Hindi, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and more. Out of the total 389 posts, 305 are reserved for APST (Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe) candidates and 84 are unreserved. All posts are Group-B (Non-Gazetted) under the Education Department. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a minimum Second-Class Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized university. You must have studied the concerned subject in all years or semesters of your degree programme.
• B.Ed Requirement: You must have a B.Ed (General) degree from an NCTE-recognized institute. Only General B.Ed is accepted — B.Ed (Special Education) is not valid for this recruitment.
• B.Ed Duration: The B.Ed programme must be at least 2 years (including mandatory internship). If you completed your B.Ed before 2015, a 1-year course is also accepted.
• Integrated Degree: Candidates who have completed a 4-Year Integrated Degree Programme with B.Ed (General) are also eligible.
• Important: Final year or final semester students of Bachelor's Degree or B.Ed are not eligible to apply.
• One Subject Only: You can apply for only one TGT (Secondary) post.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 35 years old as on 27 April 2026 (the last date of application).
• Age Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxation is available for General Category candidates born on or after 01/01/1989 and APST candidates born on or after 01/01/1984, as per the Department of Administrative Reforms, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh notification.
• PwBD & Govt. Servants: Age concession for PwBD candidates and regular government servants of Arunachal Pradesh is as per government rules in force.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month under Pay Matrix Level 7 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) and other allowances as per Arunachal Pradesh Government rules.
• The entry-level basic pay is Rs. 44,900 per month.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Written Examination (Objective): This carries 450 marks and consists of two papers. Paper 1 covers General English, General Studies, Aptitude, and Pedagogy for 150 marks. Paper 2 covers your chosen subject for 300 marks. There is negative marking of 1/6th for each wrong answer. You need to score at least 33% aggregate in both papers combined, with a minimum of 20% in each paper, to qualify for the interview.
2. Viva-voce and Classroom Teaching: This carries 50 marks. About 3 times the number of advertised vacancies will be called for the interview. For PwBD candidates, the qualifying threshold is 20% aggregate with at least 10% in each paper.

Total Marks: 500 (Written Exam: 450 + Viva-voce: 50)

Exam Pattern

• Paper 1 — General English, General Studies, Aptitude & Pedagogy: 150 marks (Objective)
• Paper 2 — Concerned Subject: 300 marks (Objective). Subjects include Agriculture, Biology, Business Administration, Accountancy, Chemistry, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, and Political Science.
• Paper 3 — Viva-voce & Classroom Teaching: 50 marks
• Negative Marking: 1/6th mark deducted for each wrong answer
• Qualifying Marks: 33% aggregate in Papers 1 and 2 combined, with minimum 20% in each paper

How to Apply

1. Go to the APPSC portal at appsc.gov.in.
2. Complete your One Time Registration (OTR) if you have not already done so. If you already have an OTR account, log in with your user ID and password.
3. Fill in the online application form for the TGT (Secondary Level) Examination 2026.
4. Upload your passport-size photograph (40-100 KB, JPG, white background, front-faced, no headgear or sunglasses) and signature (40-50 KB, JPG, black ink on white paper).
5. Upload a self-attested photocopy of your photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving License).
6. Pay the application fee online (Rs. 150 for APST, Rs. 200 for others).
7. Submit the application and save a printout for your records.

Note: You can submit only one application. If you submit multiple applications, only the one with the highest Registration ID (RID) will be accepted.
