Who Can Apply?

For Medical Officer and GDMO Posts:

  • Qualification: You need an MBBS degree from a recognised university with valid registration from West Bengal Medical Council.
  • Domicile: You must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.

For Specialist Posts (Medicine, Pediatrics, G&O, Ophthalmology):

  • Qualification: You need MBBS plus a Post-Graduate degree (MD/MS) in the relevant speciality from a recognised institution.

For Staff Nurse Posts:

  • Qualification: You should have completed a GNM training course from an institute recognised by the Indian Nursing Council or West Bengal Nursing Council. Alternatively, you can apply with a B.Sc. Nursing degree.
  • You must be registered under the West Bengal Nursing Council.
  • You should have proficiency in the local language.

For Community Health Assistant (Urban):

  • Qualification: You must have passed an ANM course from an institute recognised by the Indian Nursing Council. Alternatively, GNM course holders can also apply.
  • You must be registered with the West Bengal Nursing Council.
  • Proficiency in Bengali is required.
  • You should be a permanent resident of Birbhum district.

For VBD Technical Supervisor:

  • Qualification: Science Graduate with Biological Science as a paper, or any Graduate with Bio Science in Class XI and XII.
  • A valid two-wheeler driving license is required.
  • Experience in the health sector is preferred.

For Clinical Psychologist:

  • Qualification: M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from a recognised institution, or equivalent qualification approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 21 and 40 years old as on 01 January 2026 (for most posts including Staff Nurse and CHA).
  • For Medical Officer and Specialist posts, the maximum age is up to 67 years.
  • Age Relaxation: Reserved category candidates will get age relaxation as per West Bengal Government norms.
  • Existing employees of Health & Family Welfare Samiti working in the same position get 5 years additional relaxation from the date mentioned in the notification.

Salary

  • Medical Officer / GDMO / Specialist / Paediatrician / Clinical Psychologist: Up to Rs. 70,000 per month (consolidated, varies by post and experience).
  • Staff Nurse: Rs. 25,000 per month (consolidated).
  • Community Health Assistant (Urban): Rs. 13,000 per month (consolidated).
  • These are consolidated salaries with no separate allowances. Salary ranges from Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 70,000 depending on the post.

Selection Process

The selection will be done based on the following criteria:

  1. Academic Qualification: Your marks in the qualifying degree will be evaluated.

  3. Computer Test: A practical test to check your basic computer skills.
  4. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.

For Staff Nurse and Community Health Assistant posts, selection is on merit basis in the GNM/B.Sc. Nursing or ANM/GNM examination respectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care and treatment to patients at assigned health centres and UHWCs
  • Handle outpatient consultations, emergency cases, and referral services
  • Assist in running immunisation drives and public health programmes in the district
  • Maintain proper records of patients, medicines, and medical equipment
  • Work in shifts including night duty and emergency duty as required
  • Follow all NHM guidelines and standard treatment protocols
  • Participate in community health awareness campaigns and health camps
