About This Job

HRRL is hiring 134 posts across engineering, finance, medical, IT, fire and safety and senior plant leadership at its Rajasthan refinery and petrochemical complex. This includes 129 regular posts and 5 fixed-term Plant Head/Extruder Head positions. If you have a Diploma, B.E./B.Tech, MBBS, CA/CMA or MCA/B.E. in IT, you can apply online. HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL), a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Government of Rajasthan, has released notification HRRL/RECT/01/2026 for 134 vacancies at its 9 MMTPA Greenfield Refinery-cum-Petrochemical Complex at Pachpadra, Balotra district, Rajasthan. The recruitment covers 21 regular position types (Junior Executive to Senior Manager) plus 5 senior Plant Head roles on fixed-term basis. Posting will be at HRRL Rajasthan with all-India transferability across HRRL divisions. Freshers can apply for E0 grade posts, while experienced professionals are needed for E1 to E5 grades.

Who Can Apply?

For Junior Executive - Chemical (E0):

  • 3 years full-time Diploma in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering or related, OR 3 years full-time B.Sc with Chemistry (Honors)/Polymer Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry, with 60% (UR/OBC-NCL/EWS) or 50% (SC/ST/PwBD)

For Junior Executive - Mechanical & Fire & Safety (E0):

  • 3 years full-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical role) or Diploma in Fire & Safety (Fire role) with similar marks criteria

For Asst Engineer/Engineer/Senior Engineer (E1, E2, E3) - Engineering Disciplines:

  • 4 years full-time B.E./B.Tech in the relevant discipline (Chemical/Petrochemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation) with 60% or 50% as per category

For Medical Officer (E2):

  • MBBS from a recognised institution with 3 years post-qualification experience

For Finance Posts (E1, E2, E5):

  • CA/CMA (ICAI/ICMAI) qualification

For Asst Officer - Information Systems (E1):

  • B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/IT or MCA

For Plant Head/Extruder Head (FTE):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with 17-20 years industry experience including 12 years in Petrochemical/Refinery operations

Only Indian Nationals are eligible. Suppression of higher qualification at E0 grade leads to disqualification.

  • E2 (Engineer/Medical Officer/Officer): Maximum 29 years

  • Plant Head / Extruder Head (FTE): Maximum 63 years
  • Age reference date: 13 May 2026
  • Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, 10 years for PwBD (UR), 13 years for PwBD (OBC-NCL), 15 years for PwBD (SC/ST), 5 years for Ex-servicemen, 5 years for J&K domicile between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989. No age relaxation for FTE posts.

Salary

  • E0 - Junior Executive: Rs. 30,000 - Rs. 1,20,000 per month (CTC approx Rs. 8.87 lakhs p.a.)
  • E1 - Asst Engineer/Officer: Rs. 40,000 - Rs. 1,40,000 per month (CTC approx Rs. 12.11 lakhs p.a.)
  • E2 - Engineer/Officer: Rs. 50,000 - Rs. 1,60,000 per month (CTC approx Rs. 15.03 lakhs p.a.)
  • E3 - Senior Engineer/Officer: Rs. 60,000 - Rs. 1,80,000 per month (CTC approx Rs. 18.34 lakhs p.a.)
  • E5 - Senior Manager: Rs. 80,000 - Rs. 2,20,000 per month (CTC approx Rs. 24.81 lakhs p.a.)
  • Plant Head / Extruder Head (FTE): Up to Rs. 76.75 lakhs per annum (consolidated)

Selection Process

The selection process varies by grade:

For E0 posts (Jr Executive - Fire & Safety, Chemical, Mechanical):

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective questions, no negative marking. Two parts - General Aptitude (English, Quant, Reasoning, DI) + Technical/Professional Knowledge. 60% qualifying for UR/EWS, 54% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD
  2. Skill Test: Elimination round, 40% qualifying for UR/EWS, 33.33% for reserved
  3. Personal Interview: Elimination round with same qualifying marks
  4. Physical Fitness Efficiency Test: Agility, Endurance and Working at Height test
  5. Pre-Employment Medical Examination

For E1 and E2 posts (Asst Accounts Officer, Asst Engineer, Engineer):

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Same two parts, no negative marking
  2. Group Task / Group Discussion
  3. Personal Interview
  4. Pre-Employment Medical Examination

For Medical Officer: only Personal Interview will be conducted.

For E3 and E5 posts (Senior Engineer, Senior Manager):

  1. Technical Competency Interview (60% UR/EWS, 54% reserved qualifying)
  2. Behavioural Competency Interview
  3. Pre-Employment Medical Examination

For Fixed Term Plant Head/Extruder Head posts:

  1. Personal Interview covering Technical Competency Assessment and Behavioural Competency Assessment

Responsibilities

  • Operate refinery and petrochemical process units like crackers, columns, reactors, compressors and DCS panels
  • Handle plant start-up, shutdown, emergencies and unit troubleshooting in shifts including night duty
  • Maintain process safety, personnel safety and HAZOP compliance during all operations
  • Issue work permits, conduct gas tests and oversee contractor work in plant areas
  • Manage financial planning, audits and statutory compliance (for Finance posts)
  • Provide medical care to employees and lead first aid response during plant emergencies (for Medical Officer)
  • Lead Plant Head responsibilities including production, quality, statutory compliance and team management for FTE roles
  • Prepare daily monitoring reports, SOPs, MIS reports and coordinate with cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualification

Diploma in Engineering / B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc / MBBS / CA / CMA / MCA in relevant discipline

Preferred Qualification

Higher engineering qualifications for E1 to E5 grades; M.Tech for senior positions

Required Skills

Refinery and petrochemical process operations, plant start-up and shutdown, DCS panel operations, safety systems (HAZOP, SCABA), process simulation tools (HYSIS), financial accounting (for Finance), medical care (for MO)

Exam Pattern

The Computer Based Test (CBT) will be conducted for E0, E1 and E2 grade positions with two parts:

  • Intellectual Potential test (Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation)

Part II - Technical/Professional Knowledge

  • Questions related to the qualifying degree, educational background and practical knowledge for the applied position

Question Type: Objective (MCQ)

Negative Marking: No negative marking

Qualifying Marks in CBT: 50% in Technical/Professional Knowledge (all categories). Overall qualifying: 60% for UR/EWS, 54% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD
