The Indian Council of Medical Research - National Institute of Nutrition (ICMR-NIN), Hyderabad, a permanent research institute under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has announced 6 contractual positions across IT, Administration, Legal, Finance & Accounts divisions. This recruitment covers 2 Consultant posts (one in IT and one in Scientific/Technical Non-Medical) and 4 Young Professional-II posts in Administration, Legal, Finance & Accounts, and Information Technology. Who Can Apply?
Consultant (Information Technology):
- Qualification: Minimum MSc/BTech/BE/MCA or equivalent in Computer Science
- Experience: At least 10 years of post-qualification experience with proven competency in IT
- Desirable: Web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS), CMS and mobile technologies, database and web services (MySQL), Python/C++, version control, Docker, ODK-based data collection, digital health systems, AI/ML for health research
Consultant (Scientific/Technical - Non-Medical):
- Qualification: Minimum M.Sc/B.Tech/BE/MCA/MPH/B.Pharm/BAMS/BSMS/MD in AYUSH or equivalent in Public Health/Health Service
- Experience: At least 10 years of post-qualification experience
- Desirable: Experience in Public Health Nutrition, Nutritional Anthropometry, Diet Surveys, community-based public health projects
- Note: PhD counts as 4 years of experience. MPH/M.Tech/ME/M.Pharm will not count as experience
- Alternate route: Retired government employees with requisite qualification at Pay Level-10 and above, with 10+ years experience
Young Professional-II (Administration):
- Qualification: Post graduate in any discipline with minimum 55% marks from a recognized University/College
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience in Administration
- Desirable: Knowledge of IT applications, virtual meeting platforms, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Note: Internship/training experience will not be counted
Young Professional-II (Legal):
- Qualification: Law graduate from a UGC-recognized University/Institution, enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council of the State
- Experience: 2 years of experience in dealing with Civil/Service/Labour Arbitration cases and drafting Agreements/MoUs/Deeds
Young Professional-II (Finance & Accounts):
- Qualification: M.Com/MBA with minimum 55% marks from a recognized University, OR CA (Inter)/ICWA (Inter)/CS (Inter)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience in relevant field
- Desirable: Knowledge of Tally, MS Excel, ICMR Balance, PFMS, Income Tax and GST
Young Professional-II (Information Technology):
- Qualification: Post graduate with minimum 55% marks in Computer Application/IT/Computer Science/AI/Operating Systems/Software Engineering/Computer Graphics from a recognized University/College
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience in IT/Computer Science/Computer Application
- Desirable: Web technologies, CMS, database services, Python/C++, Docker, ODK, digital health systems, version control (Git/GitLab)
Age Limit
- Consultant posts: You should be between 40 and 70 years old
- Young Professional-II posts: You should not exceed 40 years on the last date of application (15 April 2026)
Salary
- Consultant (IT & Scientific/Technical): Consolidated remuneration between Rs. 1,00,000 and Rs. 1,80,000 per month
- Young Professional-II (All streams): Consolidated remuneration of Rs. 42,000 per month
- Note: No House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be paid. No DA, residential telephone, transport facility, residential accommodation, personal staff, CGHS, or medical reimbursement is provided
- The initial engagement for YPs is 1 year, extendable up to a maximum of 3 years (1+1+1)
- The initial engagement for Consultants is up to 1 year, with extensions on a case-by-case basis, for a maximum of 5 years total

Selection Process
The selection process differs based on the number of applications received:
For Young Professional-II Posts:
- Written Test (if 30+ applications): If more than 30 candidates apply for a post, a written test with 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each will be conducted. Questions will be related to the duties of the position.
- Personal Interview: If fewer than 30 candidates apply, selection is based on Personal Interview only. Otherwise, final selection is based on combined marks of Written Test and Interview.
For Consultant Posts:
- Shortlisting: NIN will invite applications and shortlist eligible candidates
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview and selected based on experience and performance in the interview

Responsibilities
- Maintain and update software applications, mobile apps, dashboards, and institute websites including the ICMR-NIN official website and Nutrition Atlas 2.0
- Assist in day-to-day administrative activities, official records management, correspondence, and documentation in compliance with government norms
- Handle legal matters of the institute including drafting counter affidavits, legal replies, and visiting courts/tribunals as required
- Manage financial records including books of accounts, financial statements, UC/SOE/BRS preparation, and compilation of annual accounts
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, data collection systems, and role-based authenticated software for research projects
- Support data collection and follow-ups for research projects, coordinate with field teams, and prepare periodic progress reports
- Provide technical support to servers, ensure data security, backup mechanisms, and access control within the organization
- Draft official letters, emails, reports, and ensure compliance with ICMR data protection and ethical guidelines

Minimum Qualification
Post Graduate degree (M.Sc/B.Tech/MCA/MBA/M.Com/LLB) with 1-10 years experience depending on post
Preferred Qualification
Web technologies, Python/C++, Docker, ODK, digital health systems, Tally, PFMS knowledge. PhD for Consultant posts.
