IISER Pune Medical Officer (Female) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune (IISER Pune) is a premier institute dedicated to research and teaching in basic sciences. Established in 2006 by the Ministry of Education, it was declared an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament in 2012. The institute is now looking for a qualified female medical professional to join its campus health services team at its Pune campus on Dr. Homi Bhabha Road. This is a contract position and the selected candidate will work alongside the existing institute Medical Officer to provide comprehensive healthcare to faculty, staff, students, and their dependents.

Who Can Apply?

• Minimum Qualification: You must hold an MBBS degree or an equivalent qualification that is listed in any of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).
• Registration: You must be registered in a State Medical Register or the Indian Medical Register.
• Desirable Qualification: A postgraduate degree is preferred, especially M.D. in General Medicine.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
• Gender: This post is exclusively for female candidates.

Age Limit

• You should not be more than 40 years old as on the last date of application (10 April 2026).
• Age relaxation: Candidates with higher qualifications and experience than what is advertised may be considered for age relaxation, subject to the approval of the competent authority.

Salary

• The selected candidate will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 88,600 per month (approximately).
• This is a consolidated amount and no separate allowances like DA, HRA, or TA have been mentioned.

Selection Process

1. Screening: A Screening Committee will shortlist candidates based on qualifications and experience. If the number of applications is large, only a limited number of candidates will be called for the next stage.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Only those informed via email will be considered. No TA/DA is provided for attending the interview.
3. Document Verification: If called for the selection process, you must bring original documents and self-attested copies for verification.

Important Dates

• Provide medical services to faculty members, staff, their dependent family members, and students on the IISER Pune campus.
• Handle emergency medical cases as and when they are reported to the campus health centre.
• Assist beneficiaries with IPD and OPD treatment and coordinate with external hospitals when referrals are needed.
• Work with campus counsellors to coordinate mental health and wellness services for the institute community.
• Promote general health awareness on campus by organising health camps, talks, and outreach activities.
• Facilitate tie-ups between the institute and external hospitals for enhanced medical services.
• Coordinate all medical service activities with the existing institute Medical Officer to ensure smooth operations.
