IIT Gandhinagar Project Associate-II Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar), one of the newer IITs set up in 2008 and located in Palaj, Gujarat, has invited applications for 1 Project Associate-II position. This role sits in the Power Systems and Smart Grid Lab under the supervision of Prof. Naran M. Pindoriya. The focus is on developing energy transition models for Gujarat with special attention to renewable energy strategies and energy storage technologies.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• M.Tech/M.E. in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university, OR
• B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience

Academic Requirements

• Minimum 60% or equivalent CGPA from graduation onwards
• Minimum 55% or equivalent CGPA in 10th and 12th (or equivalent)
• Strong academic track record throughout

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of power systems, electricity markets and economics
• Understanding of smart grid, renewable energy grid integration, grid optimization
• Knowledge of electricity regulation and policy
• Software skills: power system simulation tools, GAMS, Python programming (preferred)

Salary

• Consolidated Monthly Pay: Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 78,000
• Salary is commensurate with your academic credentials and relevant knowledge/skills
• This is a project-based position for an initial duration of 1 year
