Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, Kashmir has released Notification No. 01 of 2026 for the engagement of 112 Graduate and Technician Apprentices for the training year 2026-27. The programme runs for one year only and is governed by the Apprentices (Amendment) Rules, 2025, Government of India. Placements are across IUST's Main Campus, Awantipora, and its designated campuses. There is no written exam — selection is based on academic merit and interview.

Who Can Apply?

For Graduate Apprentices (B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Lib / BA / B.Sc / B.Com / BBA / BCA):

• B.Tech in CSE, CE, CEC (Civil & Construction Engg.), ME, EE, Food Technology (FT), or IT
• B.Arch for Architecture disciplines
• B.Lib (or M.Lib if UG is in a different stream) for Library Science
• BA (or MA if UG is in a different stream) in Mass Communication, Journalism, or Media Studies
• BA / B.Sc / B.Com / BBA / BCA / Integrated UG-PG in any discipline for general/administrative roles

For Technician Apprentices:

• 3-Year Diploma in any relevant Engineering & Technology discipline

Other Requirements:

• Minimum 60% marks in the qualifying degree
• Degree must have been completed within the last 4 years (i.e., 2022 onwards as on 30 April 2026)
• Degree from any recognized university or institution within or outside India
• Candidates from foreign universities must submit an AIU Equivalence Certificate
• Those currently undergoing or who have completed the 2025-26 Apprenticeship/Internship at IUST are not eligible to apply

Age Limit

• No specific age limit is mentioned in the notification. Standard NATS portal eligibility applies.

Stipend

• Graduate Apprentices: Rs. 12,300 per month
  • Rs. 4,500 from NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme) via VAN
  • Rs. 7,800 from IUST via VAN
• Technician Apprentices (3-Year Diploma): Rs. 10,900 per month
  • Rs. 4,500 from NATS via VAN
  • Rs. 6,400 from IUST via VAN
• Note: This is an apprenticeship stipend, not a regular salary. No other allowances are mentioned.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done in two stages:

1. Shortlisting based on Academic Merit: Candidates are shortlisted purely on the basis of marks in their qualifying degree.
2. Interview (40% weightage): Final selection is based on Academic Merit (60%) + Interview performance (40%). Preference is given to candidates with strong communication skills and computer knowledge (MS Office, etc.).

Note: The interview date and venue will be communicated through the IUST website only. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

How to Apply

1. First, register on the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in. New users should click "Student Register" and generate an enrollment number. Existing users can directly log in.
2. On the NATS portal, select District: PULWAMA and Institute: Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora, Pulwama, Kashmir. Fill in all fields and submit. Take a printout of the NATS application form.
3. Next, visit the University portal at recruitment.iust.ac.in and complete your registration.
4. Pay the application fee of Rs. 200 online through the University portal link.
5. Download and take a printout of both the NATS and University application forms.
6. Submit hard copies of both forms along with the fee receipt and self-attested copies of all documents to the Office of the Dean Outreach, IUST Main Campus, Awantipora by 08 May 2026 (Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM).

Important: Submitting hard copies is mandatory. Without hard copies, your online application will not be considered.

• Assist assigned departments with day-to-day academic or administrative tasks
• Support technical or research activities under the guidance of faculty or senior staff
• Maintain records, files, and documentation as directed by the supervising officer
• Participate in departmental meetings, events, and training sessions
• Handle data entry, report preparation, and official correspondence as required
• Follow all rules, regulations, and schedules set by IUST and NATS
• Complete the one-year training programme and submit a training completion report
