National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC), a Navratna enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has announced 182 apprenticeship training slots for one year at its various power stations and offices across India. Posts are available for Graduate Apprentices, Diploma Apprentices, and ITI Apprentices across trades like Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science, Nursing, Pharmacy, HR, Finance, and more. Who Can Apply?
Graduate Apprentice Posts (Stipend: Rs. 15,000/month)
- Graduate (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/E&C/Computer Science): B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engg.) in the relevant discipline from a recognised university
- HR Executive: MBA / PGDM in HR / PM&IR / HRM / MSW
- Finance Executive: B.Com from a recognised university
- PR Executive: Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication / Journalism and Mass Communication or equivalent
- Rajbhasha Assistant: M.A. (Hindi) with proficient knowledge of English language, or M.A. (English) with proficient knowledge of Hindi
- Nursing Assistant: B.Sc Nursing from a recognised institution
- Physiotherapy Assistant: Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T)
- Supervisor (HR): BBA from a recognised university
Diploma Apprentice Posts (Stipend: Rs. 13,500/month)
- Diploma (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/E&C): Diploma in the relevant Engineering branch
- Diploma (Nursing/GNM): Diploma in Nursing / GNM
- Diploma (Pharmacy): Diploma in Pharmacy
- Diploma (X Ray): Diploma in X Ray Technology
ITI Apprentice Posts (Stipend: Rs. 12,000/month)
- Electrician / Plumber / Fitter / Machinist / Welder / Carpenter: ITI in the respective trade from a recognised institute
- Computer Operator: ITI in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) trade
Note: Candidates awaiting their qualifying exam results or those who have already completed apprenticeship training of 1 year or more are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Age relaxation for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) will be given as per Government of India guidelines
Monthly Stipend
- Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 15,000 per month (includes DBT of Rs. 4,500 from Govt. of India under NATS scheme)
- Diploma Apprentice: Rs. 13,500 per month (includes DBT of Rs. 4,000 from Govt. of India under NATS scheme)
- ITI Apprentice: Rs. 12,000 per month
- If shared bachelor accommodation is not provided at the training location, an additional Rs. 2,500 per month will be paid
- Apprenticeship duration is 1 year (can be extended up to 2 years as per the Apprentices Act, 1961)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
There is no written exam or interview. Selection is purely merit-based using the following score formula:
- Graduate Apprentice Merit Score (100 marks): 20% from 10th Class marks + 20% from 12th/Diploma marks (whichever is higher) + 60% from aggregate marks in Engineering/Graduation/PG (whichever is applicable) in the relevant subject
- Diploma Technician Merit Score (100 marks): 30% from 10th Class marks + 70% from Diploma in Engineering marks
- ITI Technician Merit Score (100 marks): 30% from 10th Class marks + 70% from ITI marks in the concerned trade
Preference in Selection: First preference goes to candidates from Project Affected Families of the respective station. Next, district candidates, then state/UT candidates. Remaining vacancies are filled on merit from other states/UTs.

Responsibilities
- Work under the guidance of senior engineers and officers at the assigned NHPC power station or office
- Assist in day-to-day operations of the assigned department (electrical, civil, mechanical, HR, finance, etc.)
- Observe and learn plant operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols at hydropower projects
- Prepare reports, maintain logs, and document work activities as instructed by supervisors
- Follow all NHPC rules, workplace safety guidelines, and provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961
- Attend training sessions and practical workshops as part of the apprenticeship curriculum
- Report for duty during normal office hours and adhere to working hours applicable to NHPC employees

B.E./B.Tech in Engineering disciplines; MBA/PGDM for HR Executive; B.Com for Finance Executive

Salary & Compensation
Pay Scale
