JIPMER Deputy Director (Administration) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, is looking to fill the post of Deputy Director (Administration) on deputation basis at its Puducherry campus. This is a senior administrative position at Level-13, suitable for officers already serving in Central or State Government at an equivalent or feeder level. The deputation period is initially 3 years, extendable as per DOPT orders. Officers who had earlier applied through the August 2025 advertisement for the same post need not re-apply — their applications remain valid.
Who Can Apply?
This post is open to officers from All India Services, Central/State/UT Governments, Universities, Statutory and Autonomous Bodies, or Research & Development Organizations. You must meet one of the following conditions:
- Route 1: You should be holding an analogous post (equivalent to Deputy Director level) on a regular basis in your current organization.
- Route 2: You should be at the level of Deputy Secretary to the Government of India or equivalent, with at least 5 years of regular service in Level-12 (Rs. 78,800 - 2,09,200). In pre-revised terms, this means PB-3 with Grade Pay of Rs. 7,600.
Officers working in private organizations are not eligible for this post.
Age Limit
- Your age should not exceed 56 years as on the closing date (20 April 2026).
- You must also not have been convicted by any court of law.
Salary
- Selected candidate will draw salary in Level-13: Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900 per month under the 7th Central Pay Commission.
- Pre-revised scale: PB-4 with Grade Pay of Rs. 8,700.
- You will also get DA, HRA, TA, and other allowances as per Central Government rules.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on:

Responsibilities
- Oversee all administrative functions of the institute including establishment, recruitment, and service matters
- Manage administrative staff and coordinate between departments for smooth operations
- Handle procurement, stores, and inventory management for the institute
- Prepare and process administrative files, policy notes, and office orders
- Coordinate with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and other government bodies on administrative matters
- Monitor compliance with government rules, regulations, and audit observations
- Supervise estate management, security arrangements, and housekeeping operations
- Assist the Director in strategic planning and implementation of institutional policies
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Officers holding analogous posts on regular basis OR Deputy Secretary level officers with 5 years regular service in Level-12
Preferred Qualification
Experience in administration of medical/educational institutions
