National Institute of Technology Mizoram (NIT Mizoram) is an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, located in Chaltlang, Aizawl, Mizoram. The institute has invited applications from Indian Nationals for 3 Faculty positions under Advertisement No. NITMZ/R-1/F/15/2026/548 dated 19 March 2026. This recruitment covers one Associate Professor position in Civil Engineering and two Assistant Professor Grade-II (On Contract) positions in the Basic Sciences and Humanities departments. Selection is through presentation and interview with no written examination. Candidates with strong academic records and research experience should consider applying.

Note: The Associate Professor post (Sl. No. 1) follows the 3-Tier Rigid Faculty Structure, while the Assistant Professor Grade-II posts (Sl. No. 2) follow the 4-Tier Flexible Faculty Structure.

Who Can Apply?

For Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A2):

• Qualification: Ph.D. in the relevant discipline with a strong academic record and published research work
• Experience: Teaching and research experience as per the Schedule 'E' of NIT Statutes (Gazette of India No. 651 dated 24 July 2017) and subsequent amendments
• You need a minimum number of research publications, teaching experience, and credit points as prescribed in the NIT recruitment rules

For Assistant Professor Grade-II On Contract (Pay Level 10):

• Qualification: Ph.D. in the relevant discipline (Chemistry or Mathematics) from a recognized institution
• Experience from fully funded Central Educational Institutions, IIMs and institutions ranked by NIRF (up to 50), state educational institutions, and other NIRF-ranked educational institutions (up to 100 in Overall, Engineering, and 10 in Architecture) will be considered
• International or national experience as Post-Doctoral Fellow with institutions ranked in QS/THE World Rankings up to 500 will also be accepted for the Assistant Professor post

Important: Candidates who obtained their most recent degree (Ph.D.) from NIT Mizoram will normally not be considered, unless there is a 3-year gap between leaving the institute and the last date of application.

Age Limit

• Age limit is as per the Schedule 'E' of NIT Statutes and Government of India norms.
• All eligibility criteria including age, qualifications, and experience are counted as on 20 April 2026 (last date of application).

Salary

• Associate Professor (Level 13A2): Entry pay of Rs. 1,31,400 per month, going up to Rs. 2,18,200 per month
• Assistant Professor Grade-II On Contract (Level 10): Entry pay of Rs. 57,700 per month, going up to Rs. 1,82,400 per month
• You will also receive DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Central Government rules applicable to NIT faculty

• Women, PwD candidates, and Internal Faculty members: Exempted from application fee

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on academic merit, research output, and performance in the interview. There is no written examination for these faculty posts.

1. Shortlisting: Based on academic qualifications, research publications, credit points, and experience as per NIT Statutes
2. Presentation and Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a presentation and interview before the Selection Committee. Economy class air fare or train fare (up to AC-II) within India will be reimbursed for attending the interview.
3. Document Verification: Original documents along with one set of self-attested copies must be produced at the time of the Interview/Selection Committee

Note: Candidates abroad may be considered for interview via Video Conferencing, subject to prior approval from the Director.

2. Fill in the prescribed Application Form completely with all required details.
3. Pay the application fee online to the NIT Mizoram bank account and keep the payment receipt.
4. Fill the Credit Point Calculation Sheet (Part I, Part II, and Part III) for the post you are applying for.
5. Attach self-attested copies of all certificates, mark sheets, experience certificates, and the fee payment receipt.
6. Send the complete application with all supporting documents to recruitmentfaculty2026@nitmz.ac.in on or before 20 April 2026 (till 5:00 PM).

Note: If you are applying for more than one Department or Post, you need to submit separate application forms. Candidates currently serving in Government or educational institutions should apply through proper channel or furnish a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.
