NIT Mizoram has released a notification inviting applications for Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship (IPDF) positions in the Computer Science & Engineering and Electrical Engineering departments. Candidates who hold a Ph.D. from a reputed institute can apply by email. The last date to submit your application is 16 April 2026. The fellowship amount is Rs. 65,000 per month (inclusive of HRA) for the first year.

NIT Mizoram Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2026

National Institute of Technology Mizoram (NIT Mizoram), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, located in Aizawl, has announced the Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship (IPDF) program for the academic session 2025-26. This fellowship is available in 2 departments -- Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Electrical Engineering (EE). Women Ph.D. holders will be given preference in the selection process. This is a great opportunity for recent doctoral graduates looking to build their research profile at a premier NIT in the Northeast.

Fellowship Positions by Department

• Computer Science & Engineering (CSE): Any specialization in CSE
• Electrical Engineering (EE): Any specialization in EE

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Ph.D. degree from an Institute of Repute.
• Important: NIT Mizoram Ph.D. degree holders are not eligible for this fellowship.
• Publications: You should have published at least 2 research papers in SCI/SCIE/SSCI indexed journals.
• Preference: Women Ph.D. holders will be given preference.

Fellowship Amount

• First Year: Rs. 65,000 per month (inclusive of HRA) for a period of one year.
• Second Year (if extended): Rs. 67,000 per month (inclusive of HRA), with approximately 3% increase over the first year amount.
• The appointment is purely temporary for an initial period of 1 year, extendable by 1 more year based on the recommendation of the Supervisor and approval of the Competent Authority.

Selection Process

Selection will be done by the Institute Post-Doctoral Selection Committee:

1. Shortlisting: Based on your CV, publications, and research profile. The shortlist will be published on the Institute's website.
2. Presentation cum Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a presentation and interview. The date will be communicated by email from the respective Head of Department.
3. Document Verification: Hard copies of your application and supporting documents must be produced before joining.

1. Prepare a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) that includes all your publication details, the name of the institute where you completed your M.A./M.Sc./M.Tech. and Ph.D., name of the Supervisor, areas of research conducted at Master's and Ph.D. level, and the proposed areas of work.

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in your area of specialization under the guidance of a designated Supervisor
• Publish research papers in SCI/SCIE/SSCI indexed journals and present findings at conferences
• Assist in mentoring and guiding M.Tech. and Ph.D. students in the department
• Contribute to ongoing research projects and help develop new research proposals for external funding
• Participate in academic seminars, workshops, and departmental research activities
• Prepare periodic research progress reports for the Supervisor and Competent Authority
• Maintain laboratory equipment and research data with proper documentation
